  1. I think employer should use their common sense and let employees go home when they are not well. I know there is clear difference between a common cold and a really bad cold. I think everyone should use their common sense, especially employers. They could use their discretion and send people home or allow them to wrok from home. Some one with a bad cold would not be allowed to work in a food preparation factory because they would be contaminating food.
  2. That people are still buried underneath the St Marys duel carriage way near Bramall Lane. That the big cemetry at the top of City Road is haunted.
  3. i was looking at the following cars land rover discovery 2006 model range rover 3.0 TD Mercedes ML280 CDI 2007 model VW Toureag 2.5TD any of you guys had any experiences with them? cheers
  4. i am looking for a new used car to buy and would like a diesel 4x4 that is a good runner in these extreme wintery conditions. something that is economical, reliable and does not cost a bomb to maintain. i would appreciate any suggestions. cheers
  5. I understand, iv'e had the flu a couple of years ago and it was nasty. I understand the work ethics position because i dont like taking time off from work unless its absoutely necessary. I'm one of those who walks her children to school in the snow and then if the buses aren't running, walks into the city centre to work because thats what you have to do. But when someone is clearly so ill to the extent they are coughing and sneezing all over work colleagues, one should use their common sense and perhaps stay in bed. I'm ranting because I had to sit next to someone who coughed and sneezed all over me for a three days and now I am full of cold, cough and sneezing all over my children. Christmas is ruined for me because i just haven't got the strength but am cooking the dinner for my children.
  6. My husband is a cabbie. Historically, they were allowed by the council to make the surcharge due to it being a bank Holiday. However more recently, my husband has seen a decline in people using the taxi service and he doesn't think its a good idea to have the surcharge especially due to the fact that we are in a recession and people are losing their jobs. The flip side of the coin is that they are too are trying to make a living within the rules and cant deviate from not charging the surcharge without him facing some repercussions. Its like overtime. People in the council who are require to provide a skelton serivce over Christmas and Bank holidays also get paid double time or time and half. If they taxis drivers weren't out then how would people get about. You are in effect paying for some one to chauffer drive you to dinner parties etc so thatoyu can have drink and be merry. If the taxis drivers stayed at home then there would be no drinking and lets face it whats Christmas without the tipple? Dont drink and drive!
  7. Why is it that people who are clearly too unwell for work, suffering from flu like symptons insist on coming into work and infecting the rest of us. Is it not better for them to stay at home? Instead they come to work, pass it onto the rest of the staff who share an office. I work up yesterday feeling cold, shivering etc and now I have a really bad cold. Not sure if I can get Christmas dinner ready, My neice has had a baby, not going to see her with the baby either Now. Can people please spare a thought for the people you work with and keeep your bugs to yourself?
  8. Of course it isn't!!! Its Christmas, it only comes round once a year so enjoy! Merry Christmas.
  9. Hi, is this something you could repair by installing a new hard drive for me and how much would it cost? Thanks
  10. I had looked into this over the net and did the procedure explained. It did seem to rectify the problem for a maximum of 45 mins before it crashed and/or displayed the error message. In your opinion does it need to go back to the manufacturer or is it something you might be able to fix? Its not looking good is it?
  11. I have a problem with my ps3 and was wondering if you could help me out with it. Basically when we try to load a game it crashes or/an error message(80010514) comes up and then goes back to the xmb. Sometimes it will not even be able to read the game disc and will not load.
