  1. Sheffdave200, I have a couple of pictures you may be interested in. One is outside the back door of the farm and is of Kitty (Catherine) and her brother with my Aunt between them and the other is also of Kitty with two other gents but this one is at the side of the farm by the side of the stable. I could try and get them copied for you.
  2. Cheers for that Altus - makes sense now....
  3. Does anyone know why Ubuntu is taking so long to get upgrades?
  4. Ive seen lots of people who have lost a great deal of weight on the DUKAN diet, you can get the book on the Amazon website - apparently lots of women in France and Paris do that diet too. According to the book, the diet was devised by a doctor for his friend and the friend managed to lose all the weight he was trying to shed. Cant say Ive tried it myself though.
  5. Hi, just been reading your thread and wanted to tell you my mum's family were the last people to live at Rocher Head Farm. They were brother and sister and after they died the house was left for a few years before finally being demolished. I remember my mum taking us up there as children when she went to visit and we adored it. I live in Manchester now but still take days out occasionally to head over to Bradfield and walk down the lane and pass the remains of the farm. I can picture it how it used to be when I was little.
  6. I got one from a cheap bookshop called 'The Works' and it cost 99p - havent set it off yet though so cant tell you how good it was?:)
  7. Was in my garden last night, in Manchester, around 11.30ish and saw one massive bolt of lightening and then about eight seconds later there was the biggest rumble of thunder I have heard in ages. Then no more after that. I would say it was over the Cheshire/Derbyshire area so thats maybe what gave you all the power surge???
  8. :posted the vouchers this am so they should be with them in a couple of days. If I get any more, now I have the address I will send them on. And next year, now I have a goal I will be collecting them like mad - its good to get a little extra back from Tesco!!!!:hihi:

  13. Any ideas how I can get rid of adware. it seems to appear full screen behind internet explorer everytime I go on there. I have avast and have done a check on that - says no virus found. I have also got super antispyware and when I do a search on that it keeps finding the ads and getting rid but the ads keep coming back!! Any ideas???

  17. After seeing the Gadget show last night, they asked broadbanders to go to their website - The Gadget Show.com and take part in their survey by checking just what your download and upload speeds are on their webpage and then they are running a campaign to get a faster speed/cheaper cost for all!!! Checkit out
  18. Lovely pictures - wish I had seen it myself but there are too many rooftops in the way around my place.
  19. I said that you can keep chilli plants over winter and they will grow chillis again the next year but I dont know if I said that you would need to keep the plant indoors on windowsill /or in a greenhouse away from frost??? hope that makes it clearer??
  20. Ant powder from any hardware shop will usually kill the wasps. It should cost about £1.99 and once you manage to puff it around the entrance to the nest and on a few wasps going in it usually kills them all off as the ones entering take it into the nest. We have killed a couple of nests like this and they are usually all dead the next day. Good luck. We wore a crash helmet and gloves just in case when we were doing it.
  21. Just thought I would let you know (you probably do already) but my other half has been growing chillies for a couple of years and at the end of the growing season has been throwing them out. We were told to keep the woody stems and they would come back again year after year, and sure enough this year one of last years plants has come back to life and grown more chillies so keep them over winter and see if yours re-grow too.
  22. My husband and I went to Sunny Beach a couple of years ago. I dont think I would bother going again. The beach is about 8 miles long and completely taken over by sunbed and brolly sellers all marked off with string the only free bit seemed to be about two foot between the sea and their string line! All along the 8 miles it reminded me a bit of Blackpool and the farther you walked along the prom the more you had a feeling of dejavu all the stalls (open shops) sell designer copies of anything you want and when you go to look at goods they get really upset if you dont buy - but after that rant, we did enjoy our stay and we used to go and buy the incredibly cheap wine, after we had stuck it in the fridge for a couple of hours from one of the many 24 hour supermarkets. Also one mile inland from the beach it starts to get a bit trashy with open man hole covers etc so take a torch if you go outside your complex area and they do warn you when you go there not to go out on your own late at night - I think thats cos you may get mugged as there are lots of poorer people out there. But hey we met some great people from Sheffield in our hotel and had a good laugh with them!!!
  23. Cooo If I could afford it I would have had the lovely house in Matlock!!
  24. Well, I stumbled upon the place by accident about a year ago and it looked fantastic to me - I believe with some TLC it would be a brilliant place again. I had to take a few pics of the place and when speaking to an elderley relative later, she told me that another one of my relatives - a great aunt had worked there nearly all her married life, years ago! so strange that I never knew that when i took the pics!!
