Meet Britain's next Prime Minister.Â
Another one who has worked himself up through the ranks.

Pulp first performed here 16 August 1980 at The Leadmill. And that has a plaque, hard to understand why?.Â
Angel1.
Pulp are a band favoured by the middle classes and so called intelligentie fans.
Joe Cocker was a rough arse Sheffield Lad ,The other Cocker [Jarvis] could not lace Joe's boots.
That is why there is no plaque on Tasker Road or even the Mucky Duck.

The most famous were probably the Megsons Don and son Gary.
Also Ian and Neil Mellor .
Danny Wilson also had a son on the Owls books although I can't remember seeing him in the first team.
Any more?

I think they can. They've got some great players, however there is a question of lack of discipline starting to appear. The sending off was comical but serious too.Foresterairi is a falling downer as are many Latin based players in the league. ,to them it is part and parcel of the game they get a big shock when they play in England .
The champion of all was Alex Sibela who could fall over a tuft of grass and protest that he had been fowled .
-
Can the Owls win the league is the title .
No !but who would have thought they would have gained automatic promotion from league one last time.
-
It isn't just the Wednesday fans who want it both ways there are United fans who do exactly the same. You cannot lay the blame at just one set of fans they both as bad as each other. The worst are the armchair forum fans who would not recognise a player from either club if they passed them in the street. They are known as barrack room lawyers.
This happens on all specialised forums not just football

Good idea - although I'd be pushed to think of a well known song he wrote.Marjorine hit the charts in America.

If everyone had a government issued ID number displayed on their person every time that they left the house, maybe on a tabard, or a patch, or a big badge would it eliminate wrongdoing?Perhaps a number tattoo on the arm or forhead:mad:

Question: Is there a 'trade' that you could learn today that won't die out, or worse be done by a robot?Â
I'm actually thinking about the more 'hand-on' type of jobs. If I were leaving school today, and thinking about learning a 'trade' of some sort, then it's a question I would be asking myself.
Â
There's an interesting thing on a beeb website which reckons:
Â
Â
Â
So it's a perfectly valid question, especially if starting out in life today.
Â
Here's the website at the beeb which prompted my thoughts.

Midwife and under taker .

What memories eh! soon memories will be all that is left of Sheffields night life.

- Sterling, an institute recognised globally, a coin of worth and prestige.
 - Euro, a much maligned and cursed coin, the result of silly bureaucrats and the cause of Greek downfall.
Â
The above two statements were very true about 2 years ago. Now that the referendum is firmly on the agenda the pound is sinking away against all other major coins in the world.
Â
This isn't the first time, but it is the first time that it is happening against a Euro that is still considered in the throws of a massive depression.
Â
Not good news for a country that relies on importing cheaply and selling dearly.
What a load of rubbish.

The deputy leader of Sheffield City Council, Leigh Bramall, says the redevelopment of the retail quarter in Sheffield city centre is not guaranteed.Â
It's a development that's been on and off for years, with plans including the redevelopment of the area from John Lewis down to the top of the Moor.
Â
Speaking on BBC Radio Sheffield earlier (17/02/16), Mr Bramall said the development is currently not certain to go ahead.
Â
"We're working very hard to deliver a new retail quarter, but I make no guarantees."

Â
The area should be refurbed immediately ,new businesses moved into the existing empty shops and pubs. the Cambridge Street area can then be an extension of the successful Division Street .
Â
The citadel and pepper pot buildings will make good theatre or night club venues .
Â
John Lewis store is fine where it is and does not look out of place on Barkers Pool.
No millions to spend with this plan just plain common sense .
Â
The big shops are at Meadowhall served by the tram or free parking ,why alter that.
-
The best location for the new station is Meadowhall.
There it will serve all of South Yorkshire also it will be easy for folk from North Derbyshire and Notts to reach via the M1.
Sheffield should stop bullying its neighbours and think of its social heritage ,share and share alike.
-
Perhaps the United owners should follow the Owls chairman who goes out of his way to stand and chat with supporters out side the players entrance on match days .
He visits local hospitals with the players as well as individually to talk to sick fans and can be often seen around the Piece Gardens in town engaged in conversation with any one who stops to say hello.
He is obviously very hands on and approachable I myself have chatted to him on two occasions and treated as though my opinion is very important to him.

I have just been shopping in Tesco on Spital Hill and it seems as though pyjama's are the favourite dress for a large no of shoppers even at lunch time .

The Star had to start a campaign to save them in the 70'ies.............can't have been too many bothered then either.Would that be 1870's.

Faith schools are a blot on the landscape.
They create a separatism that prevails throughout life no matter how much people deny it.
-
Are you sure it was Les and not Des?Sorry Des and Betty she was the daughter of Ted Baker:hihi:
-
Thank God Sheffield never built any high rises or huge blocks of flats......As long as they are for students speculators can build any thing they want.
Â
And social housing forget it, as that has no interest whatsoever to the council or the Architectural trades that plan and run construction in this City.

Russia has outfoxed the West on Syria, of course they are going to paint him as the bad man.Isis is the US and Saudis creation and Turkey is a double dealing snake.
The Turks are killing the Kurds when it's the Kurds who are fighting Isis yet no one is really complaining about that are they?
Russia has brought to light the hypocrasy of the west for all to see......
Not very often I agree with you mafya but you are bang on the nail.

I a;so think that The West bitterly resents the fact that after only a few weeks participation, Putin has managed to get the key players round the negotiating table.Anna you are wasting your time ,people have forgotten how peace has been restored to Iraq. Afghanistan, Libya and so on ,
When will we learn to keep out of these wars that are mostly fought in the name of religion or tribal differences ,leave em to it .
-
Putin is deliberately bombing civilians to drive them into Turkey so that Europe will have an even bigger refugee crisis. I find it ironic that people in the UK who oppose refugees the most tend to sympathise with Putin the most. And Turkey those great lovers of piece and harmony are bombing?
