  1. Was never a member there but we use to run a radio control car club there on Saturday nights.
  2. My late husbands brother-in-law was Peter Swann and I remember going to most home games until about 1969.
  3. My Mum and I think either two or three of my aunties used to work at Intal in the fifties and sixties my Mus name is Nellie Newton
  4. i remember going on the whitsuntide march from Mount Tabor church on the Parson Cross and going all round the streets can't remember where we finished but I was a train bearer for the sunday school queen (ah happy days)
  5. I remember bedstead eddie he used to live on buchanan cres nest door to parson cross hotel he used collect old wood. my Mum lives just down from where he used to live.
  6. I think they probably got married around 1940 they had three children John,Alan,and Kathleen. I will get the exact date the next time I speak to my Mum. I know Uncle Jack had a sister that was deaf and dumb if that is any help. Pauline

Just found this thread, my Dad was born and brought up in Attercliffe on Amberly Street there were three brothers and a sister Fred, Albert(my Dad), Eric, and Doris the name was Newton I remember my Dad talking about the gangs there was down the 'cliffe they then moved to the Manor and when my Mum and Dad married we lived on Firth Park until I married. I also saw the name Cocker I was married to a Cocker don't know if it is the same family.
  10. Peter Swann is married to my husbands exwifes sister. When I first started going out with my husband we visited Peter at the pub he used to run in the centre of Brimington chesterfield and he had his England caps on display.I also used to watch him play during the sixties what a good player.

  12. I remember going to watch the star walk at the end of calder way when they used to walk all the way down Barnsley road before they alterd the route and changed it to them going down longley lane. It was walked on Whit Tuesday.
