  1. There is a basic formula on google somewhere recommending size of TV appropriate for the distance of viewing. Nothing worse than a monster TV too close Read somewhere SD is heavily compressed and the reason looks quite bad on most HD ready TV especially if too big and too close due to higher capabilities showing and flaws and compression
  2. Same up our end, but I think is a safe bet that actual dog owners who are responsible find this more frustrating than a non dog owner. Why make the effort of bagging to then throw in a hedge??? Just an observation that will probably lead to a slating but I have noticed that there are a few dog walkers with dogs off lead that have no idea when their dog has fouled due to their dog being out of sight or behind them, makes me wonder if this is sometimes a cunning ploy to accidentally not bag and bin? Dog on lead you cant fail to know when he/she has fouled and no excuses. Where I walk is a local park and lots of notices in the park and in local papers dogs to be on a lead, 75% ignore this, sure freedom of the dog etc etc but not so good when there is loads of mess and frightened kids, the dogs are not doing anything wrong but the minority of owners give the majority a bad name with non owners
  3. Had the park attendant where I live confront me last year over a similar incident, he was quite aggresive accusing me of not picking up, truth is I have a bitch and she was having a wee, I pointed out this and asked to be shown the so called mess I had not picked up....the end result was ten mins of arguing that only finished when I began to loose my rag, come on he should know better
  4. Cheers Greybeard, I take it you can by at any large supermarket?
  5. Mine is matt, any ideas? Gentle wipe with lint cloth will not clean at a guess
  6. I would go mental if some one hit my dog even if just with gloves unless she was attacking something
  7. I thought the screens was porous? I will need some sort of cleaning agent I guess as the tv and pc screen has been hugged and mauled by a 2 year old with sticky hands
  8. Whats the best / safest way to clean LCD screens from greasy finger marks etc etc Cheers Jacko:)
  9. HD has different levels 720 1080 and another if I am correct, my tv is the lower end and to be honest you cant tell that much difference apart from playing ps3 games, blu rays look good on all the levels
  10. Consider sky+ for a year on cheap package, may work out better for you especially if you need ariel upgrade
  11. Times are changing, along with opinions and attitudes, me personally dont like facebook as I prefer to be private. I see many at work that live daily on face book and appear happy for as many contacts as possible even if they dont know them, thats fine and each to there own as long as some sort of control when kids using fbook etc etc too often you hear the horror stories
  12. My dog ( greyhound ) people either love her or feel intimidated because of her size, truth is she is soft as anything but a very nervous dog when around others, I find most people with dogs off the lead are fine but always the odd one that isn't, like most things in life. Comment by Becks37 re people putting dogs in their arms....is it my imagination or is it becoming more popular for more 6 foot masculine blokes walking around with "toy" dog breeds? No offence aimed at anyone, but just could not imagine myself with one of these
  13. Got the pm thank you, any advice and comments are very much appreciated Jacko
  14. Did you use it in similar circumstances? And did you fit it yourself ? Many thanks Jacko
  15. Many thanks for the info "retired" ceiling at the top of the stairs will be too small at a guess at just under 1 meter / 36" thats why I am guessing will have to be fitted in main bedroom, no attic in the house, have read motor is virtually silent and not an issue
  16. Thanks for the reply "retired" have googled and searched extensively on this product and it appears to have a positive feedback, have sent e mail to Nuaire and awaiting reply, I just want to try and find if anyone locally has used and installed this or similar product and the results they have found, as I am sure Nuaire will be positively biased. From what I understand it is relatively simple to install but to be honest I dont fancy taking chunks out of the ceiling myself. Also I need advice on where to fit if I go with this system, have heard you need 1 meter distance from nearest wall, if this is the case I can not have fitted in a central location in the house, therefore will the effect work thought the house or just in the room it is fitted?
  17. Do you know of any groups like yours in the Brinsworth area?
  18. Look into this carefully my cheapo survey did not pick up on this, the certificate I got for damp proofing turned out to be a mickey mouse one and meant nothing as the company did not exist anymore ( not the company you mentioned ) Result was all plaster took back in every room downstairs, titanium wire put in approx 1 foot high with electrodes to repel any damp and walls re plastered with anti damp solutions, cost a few thousand in all and mess is unbelievable but it has solved the problem 5 years on. The certificate I got I had insured for around £60 to cover even if company goes bust, personally if I knew then what I know now I would not have bought the house or at best researched the problem in great detail. House looked fine for first year but then walls flaked and plaster falling off. Hope that helps Jacko:)
  19. Hi, does anyone have any experience with this product or similar products? If so do you know of an installer? The problem I am trying to solve is excessive condensation on bedroom ceilings that leads to mould growth, usual efforts have been tried to stop this IE windows open doors etc etc. House is approx 100 years old ( mid terraced ) and not available for cavity wall insulation, loft is insulated to 250MM, double glazed windows with no trickle vents, central heating in all rooms with no thermostat control. Any advise or opinions will be very much appreciated as I want this problem cured once and for all Many thanks Jacko:)
