brailz
I live on halifax road abit up from the bakery, the whole fletchers complex seems to be on fire now, the roof of the new 'reflective glass' building has just about colapsed. At least five units have passed my house and I've seen some come from the south up penistone road. A simon snorkel has just turned up as well as a specialist rescue unit from the police. Hope everybody got out ok

VickyA
So does that explain the weird mist and funny smell which seems to have descended on Oughtibridge? Strange though - we're half way up Jawbone Hill, and the smoke etc seems to be coming from Stocksbridge way, the skies towards Hillsborough are blue... I thought I was being paranoid when I smelled the smoke - I'm so glad to find this thread. True community information - thanks guys...

metalman
I could see it right over by Coal Aston on my way back from Marsh Lane car boot - then when I came down from Crookes to Walkley I could see what it was. Looks a bit major.
brailz
Anybody close to the notice that you can't smell much smoke? I am around 200m from the fire now and can't smell a thing. Closer you could smell a bit of something but I would expect the whole area to stink of smoke. At the minute I've got my doors and windows open with no problems. sccsux
The firebrigade were stuck in traffic on Penistone Road (this was about an hour ago) near the enterance to Morrisons/B&Q. Wondered what was happening. Found out a few minutes after arriving back. I know quite a few people who work there, hope everyone who works there are all OK.
