Sir Sajid Javid, who was among those to call for funding, was seen nodding in acknowledgment of the financial commitment.

One million pounds will be given towards the cost of building a memorial to honour the Muslims who died in the First and Second World Wars “in the service of freedom and democracy”, the Chancellor has said.

As he began his Budget speech on Wednesday, Jeremy Hunt vowed that past sacrifices made by those who lost their lives – no matter their faith, colour or class – will not be forgotten.

Is this really needed? Aren't the war memorials we already have sufficient?

Or is this just pandering to a radical minority?

Your thoughts?

Pandering is a fair statement. Why do Muslims need their own memorial?

Maybe it will make the bigots realise that it wasn’t only non Muslims who fought in the wars for the freedoms we enjoy today.

What are your thoughts on the matter? You seem to drop these kind of threads like a Grenade in a room and run for cover? 😂

Clearly I haven't run very far.

What's your point?
