The_DADDY Â Â 3,477 #1 Posted July 11, 2023 Meadowhall Retail Park was suddenly shut following the discovery of an explosive in the car park. Police and emergency services believe it could be an exploded Second World War bomb. Â South Yorkshire Police were called to the scene off Sheffield Road at around 10.40am today (Tuesday, July 11). There, a suspected WWII explosive had been discovered by workers doing groundworks. Officers from the police attended alongside an Army bomb disposal unit and a cordon was put in place. The police urged people to avoid the area while the work took place. The bomb has since been removed for disposal by the bomb unit. The retail park has now reopened. It's a car park which is ticketed by a private parking firm, has been for years. No idea why you got lucky there, maybe you were put on an opt-out list.
 Share this content via...
