Trams stuck at fitzalan Square. Five trams in a row. First one electrical connector stopped working and can't get anywhere now.

Crystal Peaks no trams for 40 minutes. Ok there’s a problem in town but what’s happened to  the trams between town and Halfway ?

Good thought. See different conductors on tram all the time. 

That tram at fitzalan Square sorted now. A team of engineers came and tried to put the electrical connector up manually but that did not work. Then they connected some type of combustion motor compressor to get it up again.

He pantograph used to contact the overhead wire is raised by air pressure, so it seems the tram either lost air pressure, or an electrical fault triggered it being brough down for safety.

It looked like an air pressure issue, as soon as the portable compressor was connected the pantograph went back up smoothly. 

What about the doors are they air pressure too? I don't know but they appeared to have to fiddle with them as well.

Lots of tram related issues and delays lately although last weeks yellow route only going to arena all day was because of the police investigation after a serious injured person was found by the rails near centertainment.

Not sure about the doors, probably they are air operated the same as on buses.

Yes, the doors on the trams are operated by compressed air - certainly on the "old" Siemens fleet, anyway.

Yes, things do seem to be going downhill service-wise again recently, with regular tram failures yet again.

To be fair, the majority of the tram fleet are nearly 30 years old and have all clocked up a fair few miles so breakdowns are far more likely.

Was on the news on RS at 2pm said something about the infrastructure.

Just looked and they posted this on Twitter this morning.

Due to infrastructure issues near Crystal Peaks the Blue route service is suspended between Donetsk Way and Halfway till end of service. Passengers can use their tickets on First and Stagecoach busses.
