foxydebs   36 #25 Posted September 2, 2018 My daughter will be travelling on the X17 from Heeley to Stonegravels, Chesterfield 3 days a week. She is a student but I have seen that the Student ticket is only valid as far as the Norton roundabout. Does anyone know how to get a student ticket that covers the entire journey please? Thanks  You may not be able to get one as it's Cross boundary, don't know if Derbyshire wayfarer have a student version.
 Share this content via...

If it's only 3 days a week it might not be worth it though.  To get a child/young person's concession they need a B-line concessionary pass only issued to Derbyshire residents. 1295galaxy   20 #27 Posted September 4, 2018 The Star newspaper had a Headline a few weeks ago Buses Making People Late For Work, and you thought the First or Stage Coach would do something to Improve there services, but now we have had Timetable changes and Buses routes changed,in Gleadless we had the 56 bus to Wybourn and the 1A to Ecclesfield, and the 56 got to Newfield Green at 5.06am and the 1A at 5.10 a.m and both buses got fairly full, but now we have lost the 56 bus,so there is just the 1A to get to the town centre, and the 1A is now getting later All the time, and with people buying there bus passes, its getting harder for the bus to work to there timetables,so with the 1A going to Ecclesfield,Monday and Today was late for Work, and when on afternoons it taking longer to get home from Work now as well,Do these two companies,do really care of pleasing the South Yorkshire Public,i say No,All they care about is making money
 Share this content via...

1295galaxy   20 #32 Posted September 5, 2018 To help stop the Buses being late on there Travels,Why?can"t they make it so people can Top up there bus passes online instead of when you get on the bus,as Monday or Tuesday are always busy days when people have to Top up there Bus Passes for the week, and some people just have a £20 note with them and some drivers say they have no change for the £20 note so argue with the Driver,so the bus then runs late,Hope it can be brought in soon to speed up our buses
 Share this content via...

Yorkie2000   10 #34 Posted September 5, 2018 Can't see Sheffield going down the London route where cash isn't accepted on buses  Currently operators have to offer a cash option for travel. Somehow London managed to get round this but no other area can go cashless.
 Share this content via...

This means that the service does not qualify as a bus service entitled to B.S.O.G. money but this is still claimed in London. The reason it is happening is that the powers to police it have been delegated to TfL who daft as they are would not prosecute themselves. ( Or would they ). The traffic commissioners have stated that they will oppose and prevent any areas that have not had powers delegated from following suit.
