sheffstats   10 #4 Posted December 4, 2017 I saw this in The Star this morning, apparently two "incidents" within a the same are of Sheffield. One of which will obviously be the one linked above which was later described as a RTC, not sure about the other one though.  https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/two-ongoing-incidents-causing-delays-near-sheffield-city-centre-1-8891489
 Share this content via...
Flanker7 Â Â 20 #5 Posted December 4, 2017 The use of this phrase 'Police incident' drives me mad. It sounds like the Police are responsible for the incident which in this case they are not. Â Its an incident which the Police are attending. Â Still closed at 2pm today. Still no hint about what it's about
 Share this content via...
Hopman   46 #6 Posted December 5, 2017 One incident near Greystones Road can be called Ecclesall Road, but the other near Ringinglow Road is Ecclesall Road South. However both the Star and the BBC are inaccurate in their use of images. One has a picture of rural Ringinglow Road; the other shows Ecclesall Road near Berkely Precinct (and looking the other way!) Colin Foster   72 #7 Posted December 5, 2017 One incident near Greystones Road can be called Ecclesall Road, but the other near Ringinglow Road is Ecclesall Road South. However both the Star and the BBC are inaccurate in their use of images. One has a picture of rural Ringinglow Road; the other shows Ecclesall Road near Berkely Precinct (and looking the other way!)  The Star these days just put the name of the road into Google street view and post a screen shot. Cutting edge.
 Share this content via...
Jeffrey Shaw   90 #8 Posted December 6, 2017 the other near Ringinglow Road is Ecclesall Road South It was a collision involving a lorry and a motorcyclist who later died from injuries. The Ringinglow Road junction is notoriously dangerous, esp. for vehicles turning from that road left or right into E.R.S.
 Share this content via...

Jeffrey Shaw   90 #10 Posted December 7, 2017 Motorcyclist? That's what BBC News reported, although a friend who lives on Ringinglow Road told me that the victim was an elderly lady. The Google reference supports that:  https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thestar.co.uk/news/video-woman-dies-after-being-struck-by-sheffield-highways-maintenance-lorry-1-8893876/amp So maybe the motorcyclist death was in the other (more or less contemporaneous) accident at the bottom of Greystones Road?
