Old deepcar photos

Trying to find old photos of manchester road, deepcar esp. Deepcar transport or the lorries owned by them,i have checked out the stocksbridge history site and got a few but due to the low file sizes quality is poor.

Just another thought. If you know Barnsley market there is a fascinating stall there which sell old photos of most areas of South Yorkshire. They are on open display there in A4 sleeved folders. Well worth sifting through. :cool:

Have a look in transport companies on here ( Ex pats ) I think there is a couple of photos of Deepcar Transport

An old relative of mine returned from the USA & bought a smallholding at a place he called 'Bytham'. Trying to find this place was a nightmare until I found where it was by talking to an ex Samuel Fox worker. He told me that the Bitholmes area used to be called Bytham in the local dialect. I subsequently travelled up Bitholmes Lane & think I found the smallholding.

I write this just out of interest to others.
