Karen 1967 Â Â 10 #1 Posted August 27, 2014 Does anyone remember the old SYPT buses. When you could travel anywhere for a few pence. My dad worked at Herries Road Garage. He died when I was 17 about 30 years ago, but when I visit family in Sheffield, I pass the old site which is now Hillfoot Steels, and feel all nostalgic. 10sheds   10 #2 Posted August 27, 2014 I started as a driver in 1974 at Herries fondly known as "Hillsborough Bus Company" by us all because we were considered as outsiders to the rest of the company. I may have known your Dad as I was there till it shut down and moved to Olive Grove, what was your Dad's name?
 Share this content via...
raymond1947 Â Â 10 #3 Posted August 27, 2014 I was a driver there from 1970 for 35 years. We had a great relationship with all our comrades there. I retired, don't miss working but miss all the lads.
 Share this content via...
