Blueeyedliz
I'm in a band a property and pay around £108 per month by direct debit. Does anyone know when the free months are? I thought it was February and March but I've checked with my bank and I've paid this month. Thanks.
SpikeMac
They've taken mine too. I can't get through on the phone either.
Blueeyedliz
I've tried ringing too but been in line ages and had no luck getting through. ---------- Post added 21-02-2014 at 15:06 ---------- Can't even log on the council website to check online because the activation email they sent me doesn't work. whiteowl
Last one from me was 2nd Jan so it doesn't appear to be across the board
chocki
Exactly the reason I pay very little by direct debit/standing order. I'D rather have control of MY money!
fredsredhat
Depending on the date you pay you will not get "2 free months", Payments are spread over either 10 or 12 months and some direct debits are paid over 12 month. Check your payment schedule on your bill

No User Name
Depending on the date you pay you will not get "2 free months", Payments are spread over either 10 or 12 months and some direct debits are paid over 12 month. Check your payment schedule on your bill This. The general default is 10 months (with February and March as "free" months), however they can change it to 12 months, works better for some people so they know where they are every month. You still pay the same with each method, of course!!! ---------- Post added 21-02-2014 at 15:08 ---------- Also, Ive taken a look at the bands and cant quite work out why you are paying £108 per month on a Band A property https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/council-tax/bands.html Should either be around £83 (12 payments) or £99 (10 payments) per month.
