No User Name   10 #25 Posted February 21, 2014 You're wrong. My council tax is also band a. When my ex lived with me, we paid £83 per month (over 12 months). My ex moved out last September. So I applied for the single person discount. In October I paid nothing for my council tax. In November the payment was £16.77 and December, January and February have been £111.  It's because the single person discount was applied for half way through the year so it all had to be recalculated and split evenly over the remaing few months.  Well that isn't a normal circumstance. Would be £63 a month or so in a normal year (£83 minus 25% comes to about that)  As for the person who says I am "bothered", I thought this was a discussion forum?
