Waldo   96 #112 Posted November 3, 2013 I`m tempted to try Castle tomorrow . . .  Did you do it? How was it?  I ended up doing Rother Valley this week. Had quite a few runners (think it was 92), despite the wet conditions (puddles along the far side of the course).
 Share this content via...
jemson   10 #113 Posted November 3, 2013 Did you do it? How was it? I ended up doing Rother Valley this week. Had quite a few runners (think it was 92), despite the wet conditions (puddles along the far side of the course).  It was nice. Very friendly. Great Halloween stuff and a tidy course. 3 laps is ideal if you are a visitor; first one to suss it out without losing too much time or killing yourself, as you could do in Graves. Well done Castle! Flanker7 Â Â 20 #114 Posted November 5, 2013 Graves has a runner going for 7 pb's in a row- good on her. But, some runners 'funnel duck' it causes havoc wi the times if the timer and token volunteer are not in sequence and have good communications. Why o why do they do it? Flanker7   20 #116 Posted November 9, 2013 Sheffield parkrun results for 9-11-13  41 Concord 138 Graves 93 Hillsborough 48 Sheff Castle 432 Sheff Hallam  Total = 752  Numbers still on the up. Pleasing to see Concord and Sheff Castle numbers increasing. The nippy temperatures were okay for the runners but its the volunteers who make it possible. Many thanks to all of them  Our 7 pbs in a row runner didn't show today. So the record equalling pb is still on. Further research has revealed two Graves runners who have already done it. One of them in consecutive Events. But nowhere near the 49 in a row in 50 runs by a Gorleston Cliffs runner.
 Share this content via...

jemson   10 #118 Posted November 13, 2013 I have never done parkruns before. Which one is the best to do for a beginner? thanks.  In my opinion, do your local one. Where are you based? All runs have a genuine mix of abilities, usually from 17 mins to 45 mins for the 5k. Endcliffe is flat but very busy. Rother Valley is flat, Graves is hilly. Moosey   10 #119 Posted November 13, 2013 (edited) The park runs sound quite interesting - is there a website? Can I just turn up and run, say at Endcliffe?  Edit - just found all the details.  Next question, I'm not that quick but I'd like to try this. It'll probably take me 36 minutes - will I look a mess being that slow?? Edited November 13, 2013 by Moosey
 Share this content via...
