Sheffield pubs/clubs on a Wednesday night

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

I'm coming down to Sheffield on 24th July for Sheffield Wednesday vs Rangers pre-season friendly.

After the match I intend to head into the city centre to go to some pubs and clubs.

I'm staying overnight at the city centre travelodge and would like to know how easy it is to get to the more "vibrant" parts of the city centre from here.

I was told West Street/Division Street offer the best choice of pubs/clubs, is this true? If so, which would you recommend?

I'd assume there will be some clubs open but since it's a Wednesday night I'm unsure if there will be as many open as there would be on a Thurs/Fri/Sat night.

Hopefully someone can help me out, looking forward to visiting the city. :)

OK mate cheers, that's where I'll head to. :)

Thanks for the welcome to Sheffield too (albeit an early one! :D)

You might want to change into non-footy colours at the hotel before going in town though (if you are wearing footy clothes at the match) to avoid not getting in anywhere. Everywhere will be open, and there are plenty of late bars/clubs open. Carver Street will probably be the busiest place to end up after pubbing it.

Hope you enjoy Sheffield.

:)

Is this the i'll get a plug in at any cost post?

In so far as it is the only place near to being a decent pub in Woodseats, unless Cross Scythes comes into it. (please don't plug the awful Abbey again! )

And how does a pointing out a decent pub in Woodseats help someone looking for bars and clubs in the city centre?

Can't believe that you think that, you obviously don't frequent the place or talk to people that have.

It's run by a dictator, for example,a notice went up not long ago in the bar that regulars only would be admitted on saturday night, this to keep people out from the club down the road.No swearing or loudness is allowed, quite a few people have been barred at the drop of a hat!

The landlord runs the place as a hobby, opens it when he feels like it and lets the few 'regulars in through the back door others are kept out.

Forget it,plenty of better places to socialise.
