Cheapest place for plants?

Recommended Posts

Where is cheap around Sheffield for a good selection of plants to stock a garden? B&Q isn't particularly cheap unless they have a 3 for 2 offer on, and most garden centres seem to be even more expensive than B&Q..

Are there any 'plant sales' coming up? Looking in particular for some tall bamboo (nearly £35 in B&Q!!) and other tropical looking plants

B&Q do tend to be very cheap (although this year we've had problems with some of their plants dying). If you're looking for tall bamboo it will always be expensive, the more mature a plant is, the more expensive it will be I'm afraid.

Other than that, look for local allotment sales etc. But they'd be unlikely to be selling bamboo & tropical stuff I think.
