How well prepared are you?

Ladies and gentlemen of the forum. Snowmageddon is almost upon us. The Met office are forecasting literally centimetres of snow, almost everywhere in the UK.

That amount of the white stuff is obviously a very worrying prospect and it deserves serious contemplation.

So, how well prepared are you? How many days could you be confined to you house without running out of vital supplies? Do you have a food store? Water supplies? Candles? Spare booze? Enough bog roll to weather the storm?

Of course, if it as bad as the Express are claiming, we are probably all in trouble.

The Express have short memories! We had significantly more than a foot of snow in winter 2010. I remember walking to work and it was past my knees, so about 18inches or so.

There we go in fact. Remember it well, as the midwife couldn't get to us :)

Sun tan lotion, flip-flops, and the BBQ's been turfed out of the garage.

I've seen the forecast for Sheffield change quite literally hour by hour on the 'net and TBH can't trust anyone of 'em.

It's easier for the forecasters to scaremonger snow and so then the Councils can say 'We're prepared'.

Nothing can be predicted in reality until around 12 hours ahead of events...

I'd love a Met Office job..predict ****e, smile and say 'Well we can never be 100%'

I'll look out of my window Monday morning and take it from there, my driveway already has rock salt down, I've decent tyres on my 4WD Subaru, I'll not make any unnecessary journeys, I have a tow-rope, walking boots, shovel, blanket etc in my boot...bring it on.

I'm planning on snowboarding down my road if it snows as it never gets gritted anyway.
