top4718
I'm wanting to take out the family for a meal tomorrow lunch time, don't want to travel too far from Sheffield. Prefer old fashioned type pubs (wont even consider any of the chains). I had thought of going to Silversmiths but it doesn't look like it opens at lunchtime. Any similar recommendations would be welcome.
neeeeeeeeeek
The Barrel at Breton is great but a good 30mins drive, depending on where in Sheffield you are. Lovely food, real fire, great location.

modforlife
I'd recommend the Forum on division street. I often eat in there at dinner and think its excellent.

Thyme isn't a pub but is good for family gatherings with solid cooking. Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android
kimbowbill
Hi The Old Horns at Bradfield is fab, they do 2 for £5 and its excellent, the menu is very extensive and they have a great specials board lovely surroundings and staff are really nice, I had a mixed grill, for £9, 2 lamb chops, rump steak, pork steak, gammon steak, sausage, black pudding, peas and a perfect fried egg, it was cooked to perfection and served with HOME MADE proper scrummy chips.
