Mecky   10 #14 Posted July 18, 2012 Yeah, what's that all about? That's what I thought? Is it because of where there admin offices are situated? Or is it just because they're in trouble, that's being trotted out?  I think they meant staff in a branch of the bank that happens to be sited in the UK. Phanerothyme   12 #15 Posted July 18, 2012 Of course, without the cash pumped into the system by drug cartels at the time (aka laundered) the crash of 2008 would have been worse.
 Share this content via...

erebus   10 #18 Posted July 18, 2012 So what in NEW? scentral   10 #21 Posted July 18, 2012 It really gets worse by the day, doesn't it?  The trouble is, the financial sector is about the only thing that's keeping the UK afloat (on paper, anyway). We've managed to keep their methods quiet thanks to 'Sir' Mervyn King and the politicians. Thankfully, the Americans are not as beholden to the 'system' as our lot and are pointing out what banks really are all about.  I knew the people 'in charge' were clueless and it becomes more apparent daily. Buggz   10 #22 Posted July 18, 2012 I watched an interview with the ex MI5/MI6 agent & novelist John Le Carré where he talks about various banks and their money laundering that some of you might find interesting.  Interview starts at 3.24mins and he starts talking about money laundering at 8.22mins.   The article that he refers to is here: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/13/opinion/13mazur.html?pagewanted=all
 Share this content via...
