Longcol
It would be kinda helpful if you'd stated what time of day this was, where you'd set out from, and where you were going to.

mrs brady
this night mare traffic problem HAS GOT TO BE SORTED any councellor reading this get it sorted , 25mins today from meadowhead to Abbey pub nightmare , nightmare nightmare I always avoid that road , why don't you go down Greenhill avenue/Bocking Lane And then turn right at the bottom and go along Abbey Lane 5 Minutes Tops
Dizzyblonde
I emphasize, going up Meadowhead is also a nightmare. The three lanes by the roundabout are not wide enough for the vans and buses that are never in the correct lane and then try to all cut across snarling it up for everybody. From junction 29 of the M1 through Chesterfield it is mainly a fast road, then traffic hits meadowhead and there just is not a decent route into Sheffield. Chesterfield Road is a traffic light every 100 yards into Town.
perplexed
this night mare traffic problem HAS GOT TO BE SORTED any councellor reading this get it sorted , 25mins today from meadowhead to Abbey pub nightmare , nightmare nightmare What would you suggest as an answer to the problem? The problem is that too many vehicles want to use the same piece of tarmac at the same time, obviously including you. The road is only so wide, and can only accomodate a given number of vehicles. Without wholesale demolishion of half of Woodseats, this won't change the fact you are going to end up with a bottle neck. Busses need to stop, pedestrians need to cross, drivers need time to manouever into spaces.
Sghom
they could start by getting rid of that stupid bus gate !!
perplexed
they could start by getting rid of that stupid bus gate !! You would still get two lanes merging into one. So you haven't solved the problem, just shuffled it a few yards down the road.
Vrsaljko
I get the bus home from work at 3pm most days, and even at around 3:30 the bus is queuing from Homebase for a good 15 minutes just to get on to Woodseats.

Use a bicycle instead, much quicker.
