Allen   38 #5 Posted July 18, 2011 Yes, they most definately will. Your doctor or consultant should be able to organise it for you. It's done through the Mobility and Specialised Rehabilitation Centre at the Northern General Hospital.
 Share this content via...

Snook   10 #7 Posted July 18, 2011 If it's your wheelchair then I imagine you can lend it wherever you like, and to whoever you like. If you accept money for it then you'll be hiring it and not lending it, and that is a different matter.
 Share this content via...

Arguendo   10 #9 Posted July 18, 2011 (edited) Try the red cross they used to lend them out  This will be your quickest way of getting one, the hospital have limited supplies, due to one of the reasons that many people don’t return them, the consultant won’t do much in the area, it tends to be the physiotherapy department who will be best in helping you. The Red Cross will charge a £10 admin fee, but you'll receive it in no time. Also try use the palliative care team; they can do wonders in getting other items that you may need or in advising where to get items from. Don't be shy in asking for things, if your mom is terminal then Palliative team will fast track everything for you. Phili Buster   10 #11 Posted July 18, 2011 As earlier poster says, try Red Cross.  I borrowed a wheelchair for use by my mother a couple of years ago when down in Devon, they just asked for a donation to the Red Cross.
 Share this content via...
