We always say "put some music on", nobody ever actually says what it's played on .... this thread made us think, and none of us can decide !

cos mine features two record decks and a tape deck and a radio too? :)

infact it has TWO cd decks :P

What you talk about is a PA System, not a Hi Fi or Stereo. As an Ex DJ with his mobile equipment it was never called a Hi Fi or a Stereo.

You talk of twin decks and a tape deck, you miss out the Amps, the Lighting and Controls.

In all my years as a DJ I have never used radio at a gig.

I get the feeling that your equipment is only used at home and not on the circuit. Am I wrong. I still have my Record collection from the 60's to the late 80's and the Albums to.

And the Vinyl played on a good deck has a more enritched sound and a better quality than CD.

I've got some wireless speakers which I move around the house so I play my CDs on the laptop in the lounge.

I call it a CD player even though it does have radio (but I never listen to the radio).

I call it the stereophonic gramophone, mainly due to the fact that it winds the wife up like when I refer to the radio as the wireless.
