Lady Star
I think it has closed! Nah, Andrews's hasn't closed! It's excellent! To the OP - There are loads of nice cafes in the city - very few are tat like Starbucks thank God! Gusto Italiano is the best, but currently closed? Maybe they've gone back to Italy for hols? Cafe 22 op St Maries RC Cathedral is nice, Blue Moon next to CofE Cathedral is also nice, all meals either vegetarian or vegan, but you don't need to be either to enjoy their food... There are a few in peace gardens, but all chains, and the same for leopold square - lots of cafes, but all chains... Go out towards devonshire green/west one and there are more still! perplexed
Another vote for Gusto Italiano! We thought the Blue Moon over-rated to be honest...
Blade73
Does anyone remember that manky one just off High street in the gennel I think it's Aldine Court, I think a cup of tea was 20p and it was always packed.
ab6262
try "Caffetteria" top of Leopold st, corner of church st next to the tanning studio, great coffee, extensive menu of cold sandwiches, filled paninis etc, friendly staff too
catanfan
It's a five minute walk from the city centre but I would recommend 'Fusion' in the revamped Butcher Works on Arundel Street. I've used it on four or five occasions for lunch. They are very friendly and everything seems freshly made. It can get very busy with Uni staff as it's across the road from the Furnival building - it's not a huge space. They are hoping to open a bakery soon, too. komal
I second fusion, best coffee in town, biodynamic and fair trade bought direct from suppliers in brazil. Menu that changes daily, all hand made, all organic and once you go you'll just love it but be warned as between 12-2 its packed and you may have difficulty getting a table. website
