Specifically, what would you change to rectify this then?

I would change various aspects of employment law, including strengthening protection for whistleblower's and on constructive dismissal (even when won an employer can't be legally compelled to take back someone they have illegally sacked).

See Serapis ...... Wildcat could not find your link to be an untruth....so he suggests that we strengthen our anti.discrimination laws....can you believe this man....wants US to change OUR laws to suit the Pakistani population of Britain....can you imagine this happening or even being suggested in Pakistan.

The change in the law would improve life for us all. Businesses after all perform better if they select on merit the best person for the job and don't make the life of their employees a misery by allowing bullying.

There is no evidence there is a problem as both Sikh and Hindu's are far below the levels Muslims unemployed and typical of the other UK religious groups.

You have presented evidence of the muslim community being discriminated against.

It supports reports on the subject and it doesn't take very long on this forum to see which group in society is most obviously scapegoated and victimised.

You said you would accept them once they are proven. I have done just that and in the words of the UK Government:

...unemployment rate for Muslim women was about four times the rate for Christian and Jewish women.

Muslims had the highest male unemployment rate in Great Britain.

Among working age men, Muslims had the highest overall levels of economic inactivity.

As a proportion of the population, compared to both Christian, Hindu, Sikh, Jew and all other religions represented in the UK, Muslims are by far more likely to be unemployed or economically inactive.

But your post was irrelevant to the issue I raised when replying to Paul's post.

Paul was implying that all Asians make use of the benefits system, all you've illustrated is that a higher propertion of Muslims claim benefits than any other ethnic group.

Your contribution would have been more relevant if you'd also compared the revenue that working Muslims bring to and generate within the UK, for example, behind Muslim countries and the USA, Britain is the largest beneficiary of external investment from Muslim countries, that includes investment from the mega wealthy oil rich countries, so Muslims are not exclusively a 'drain' on Britain's welfare state.

But there is no evidence this has anything to do with discrimination other than your assertion.

Why is the problem always someone else’s fault? Why are the Sikhs and Hindus capable of sustaining employment to comparable levels with Christians and other UK religious groups if the country is so discriminatory?

The discussion was of Pakistanis’, who are majority Muslim.
