shoeshine
It'll be a busy and long night for Amateur Radio enthusiasts tonight, too. Many of them will be transmitting voice messages to and listening out for audio reception of "ghostly-sounding" messages from other Radio Amateurs doing the same. The Perseid Meteor Showers sometimes act as "reflectors" of radio transmissions from (and back) to Earth. I've heard them myself, although its quite some years ago now. julado
I heard on the radio this morning that the "meteors" are no bigger than a grain of sand, but they light up because of how fast they're going. Hardly meteoric proportion then

foxy lady
We took the car out into Derbyshire Peak District last night, parked up on a dark lane near Litton, lowered the hood, reclined the seats and laid back. Ah...it takes you back. Apart from that it was a total waste of time. I never saw a damned thing.

whosewho
I have just heard on Look North that the meteor showers will peak tonight (Thurs). It said to look for them from immediately sun goes down until midnight. It did not say which part of sky to look in. Does anyone know where they will be?
