(it's the broken bone ward) Â Your best bet is to phone the ward and ask them, some may be a bit more relaxed than others
Daven
Visiting at NGH is 2pm - 3.30pm and 6pm to 8pm every day on most wards although there may be differences in specialised areas such as Intensive Care. As has been stated - best to ring the ward and check before leaving home. You may be able to visit out of these times in exceptional cases but this is at the discretion of the Ward Sister and must be arranged before the event. Hope your friend gets better soon. HeadingNorth
Does it depend how kind the Ward Sister is......? Â It shouldn't ... hospitals are, more and more, discouraging people from visiting outside set times. It's a primary cause of infection amongst the patients. Â Parents visiting their child, or a husband visiting his wife and vice versa, I can understand an exception being made. For a friend going to see a friend, I very much doubt it. For a friend going to see a friend, I very much doubt it.  This was a private joke between Darkoak and myself actually ! The rules are very strict now about visiting and rightly so. The public outcry about MRSA and infection control has now resulted in strict rules for visiting - no children under 12, no sitting on beds or patients chairs and restricting only 2 visitors to a bed. Within my area, we are very strict about the rules and will challenge anyone who doesn't stick to them. Some people get upset but most people understand the need for our strictness and respect our requests.
