sue180
well I just looked at my road and dont think they have a chance to get up here, the sides roads off jenkin are bad with ice! but when i phoned them up they said they would only collect 3 bags aswell as the bin! phawley
I can't understand this ruling about the bin lid being closed, on our road we have one or two elderly people who live alone and have very lttle rubbish, the binmen come along take the one bag out of thier bin and put it in someone elses bin and then wheel it to the truck with the lid almost fully open. Report it to the council and protest to your local councillor. This diktat about fully closed bins was approved by the council on the grounds of health and safety. If the binmen are now flaunting the rules for their own convenience they, and the council, need a (metaphorical) kick up the backside.

Munch
Myself and my gf only use about one black bin liner of rubbish a week so not really bothered if they don't come this week either. Can understand it must be difficult for big families though although have no sympathy for people that don't recycle. Remember people RECYCLE as much as possible and you will reduce the amount of stuff going in your black bin.
horribleblob
Take it you haven't got kids then. Your average teenager can generate enough rubbish to fill a wheelie bin in a couple of days - less if they eat pizza. Au contraire mon ami, when I say there are two in our household, that's me plus a teenager ...but maybe she's not 'average'

Yeah, they do that down our street too. Fair enough if it helps them do the job but it does rather contradict the closed bin lid ruling.
