Oh by the way did anybody know that the fares are going up again in january?it's getting to that time of year again where shareholders/directors are thinking about pay rises for the staff & to top it off another hike in prices come april They've taken away what little they could offer (£1 fares mon - thurs 7pm till 11pm) & other offers they had on "tight wads". Just thought i'd let you all know in advance.

I went in there not too long ago looking for table cloths,i couldn't find any at first & so i decided to ask a member of staff,the nearest bloke was a stones throw away a small,skinny distinctive looking geezer so i asked him do they have any table cloths in store so he replied is it for a table

There's also a picture back on post no2,apparently soon after the pub closed the asian community got their hands on it & turned it into a youth club sort of thing (didn't last long though) .

I have old memories of visiting a dairy factory when i was at school (shiregreen late 70's)which was situated on bellhouse rd (i think) can anybody tell me if it's still there as i haven't been to that area for at least 25 years,many thanks.

I used to live on daffodil rd from 77 to 81/82,also attended shiregreen school where the head mistress in the infants part was called mrs gorrell & the junior part of the school the headmaster was called mr sanderson (curly hair with a tache).I went past the school recently & couldn't believe how different it looks,sad really cause i have fond memories of that place.

I left around 1986,my form teacher was mrs robson.Other teachers i remember are mrs swallow,miss doyle (now head teacher),mr baybutt,mr kesterton,mr kyte,mrs kirkpatrick,mrs hartley,mr hartley,mrs ward,mr tompkins,miss blake,mr greenhoff.
