  1. With Christmas around the corner, lots of children will be asking for a musical instrument. Some will want a drum kit! So why not try #drumlessons for your child (or for you) We can provide lessons in your home or in our studio. Our tutors are all DBS checked, have 15 years gigging and teaching experience, and above all, teach in a fun, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Please call 07824 808807 or 01709 322889 for more information. @stickitdrumschool
  2. I am hosting a Drum camp event during the summer holidays this year, from 19th of July - August 31st. The camp is aimed at beginners, with basic knowledge of drumming being taught during either day courses or weekly courses. We will teach the basic fundamentals of drumming, as well as an insight into the music industry. The course is also aimed at people who have already started drumming, but would like to come along to learn something more in depth, as well as something different. Drum Camp is a program for young children and young adults between the ages of 4 and 16, whom may come from underprivileged backgrounds, where parents cannot afford £26 for an hours lesson. It is aimed at those who have a desire and urge to pursue an interest, or profession in either drumming or music, or to attend for fun. Camps are based around the philosophy of ‘Play. Learn. Drum. Fun' and teach the students to embrace all facets of drumming equally The sessions are £25 per three hour session, per student or for a full week, £75 (four days) There is no exams, nor should the student/parent expect to undertake any exam. This is for the purpose to introduce children and young adults into drums/percussion, with a view that they may wish to continue with private tuition, and grading, in the future. If you would like to know anything further, please email yorkshiredrumcamp@gmail.com tel: 07824 808807 or 01709 322889 Facebook - The Yorkshire Drum School. Thanks

  8. Hi guys, In looking to set up a proper old feeling stax soul band. Think Otis, Booker T, Sam and Dave, Eddie Floyd, Wilson Picket etc, writing and performing out own material, with covers thrown in, but with out twist on them. Not looking to take over the world, want to play music I love, have fun. Rehearsal commitment is needed, but gigs can be as irregular as we like (already got commitments) This his solely for pleasure, see how it goes, I it takes off, great. If we just do the odd gig, fine. I would like to record an album though! Looking for Guitarist -no shredders please. Steve Cropper/Pete Green style player Hammond/Organist - booker T style Bass player Singer/Frontman Sax And Trumpit. This will be fun, no pressure, but players who are seasoned, no beginners please. If interested, please drop me a message. Thanks Rich
  9. I'm half Scottish, and not very handsome. But have dark hair. Could we work?
  10. I will never forget the scrabble episode. Toby clearly made a naughty word up on his board, was asked what word he had by someone in his ear, thought he was off air and said "Ahhv got arse'oyle" Made me LOL. Not a great moment but still makes me LOL now thinking of it.
  11. Listen to those chants on the news! Best news I've had all year!
  12. Comedian...unless he is now known as Theresa? The shows have some form of scripting. Is rather listen to Toby, not understand him, than any of the other RS shows. I would be interested to know what the other listening figures are for the station.
  13. Gerry Kirsey is another pile of pap! He mumbles and talks utter garbage throughout his shows. How many times can one person repeat his email address in a show? Does anyone really care what links these peoples names to each other? Or what colour his stool was back in 1956 due to eating bacon fat? No The listeners who seem to put Toby in the "crap" box really need to sit back and listen to the drivel coming out of Gerry's and Howies mouth as they stutter and struggle the trough a show during every performance. At least Toby has some balls to attack morons like Peter Davies, the racist postman and others. As for not being able to understand him, if Toby wasn't white that would be classed as racist, I suggest you wax your ears out or maybe stop listening to the tripe you do? Then maybe you may understand someone who talks sense for a change! What's someone's looks got to do with presenting? Howie is hardly Brad Pitt, more like Sess Pitt! Chris Moyles is far from being an Adonis, but he had millions tune into his show. Simon what's his name on radio two is far from being as handsome as me, again, attracts millions....could go on. Anyway, I'm off to get Toby to write me another cheque, he can afford it since he was on £1000 a show.....
  14. RS isn't really listenable anymore. I don't care what any one says, Toby made it a little more easy to listen to of a morning. Rony is drivel, Paulette talks crap and clearly doesn't listen to callers, Howie is Howie, the only decent show is the Soul show, which I listen to on catch up I hate the old "never be as good as Capstick" etc..wasn't he the bloke swearing on live radio? Always ******? Yea... That's something I want to listen to! Toby should be back, but he should not have said what he said. Social media has been the death of a few careers. The morning show is pure tripe, and I can't fault Paul for trying, he does try, but he isn't really a people person now is he!
  15. I know this is years old, but Im just reading 'Weerz Me Dad?", will be getting "Weerz Me Mam" next week. I was saddened to read Fred had passed away, but love this book. There's 40 years between us in age, but I can relate to some of the stories.
