  1. their website's fairly useless but usually their nights are promoted here... http://www.dontstayin.com/uk/sheffield
  2. no...they ARE all weird pervs...it's just that some of them are nice weird pervs
  3. Well, they're only pretending to be animals...no actual animals are involved so it isn't really bestiality. In a way, you COULD see it as little more than dressing up in a sexy nurse outfit or something. Except that (as I understand it) in their minds they are animals... ...I did mention you didn't want to know
  4. Careful, they'll accuse you of fursecution. ...and your partner's worried about you having a forum affair...?
  5. No animals involved, so no...not QUITE that scary
  6. I also know a RL furry, who, while very strange, is very nice. Similarly, I have also "met" nice, harmless furries on Second Life. This does not alter the fact that what they do (in RL and SL) is scary. KTHFB - google "Yiffing" if you must...
  7. I think that depends on the person creating the virtual identity. I have been "playing" Second Life for several months, and my avatar is more or less a virtual depiction of the real life me (in terms of appearance that is - my SL persona is identical my RL persona). If I had any real life physical flaws to correct, I probably would have done so...but then I'd try to do so in RL too; by losing weight if I had a gut, for example. Where there are differences, these are generally either because I can't find/make something (my hairstyle, for example, is a little different for this reason) or because I've come across some bit of kit or clothing I think is really cool, but which I couldn't afford (or which doesn't exist) in RL. I don't find this in the least scary, it's just playing with the game and seeing what's possible. What IS scary about Second Life are the people, like those depicted in last night's programme, who immerse themselves in it completely and look for relationships and/or sex through it. These tend not to be the avatars who look like their RL "typist" with a few flaws ironed out...more likely, their avatar will be a muscle-bound adonis or improbably endowed supermodel, whilst they themselves are...well...not. The difference is one of approach - these people WANT others to assume they look like their avatar in RL, or least that their avatar is a projection of what they believe they SHOULD be in RL. These people are messed up, whether or not they play SL...though admittedly SL gives them a platform on which to play out their psychological problems. And I won't tell you about the furries. That's a whole new level of scary and if you don't know about them you're MUCH better off...trust me, you REALLY don't want to know! I think my point (as much as I have one) is that the scariness isn't so much how people LOOK, more how they think and behave. An affair online is no different to an affair in real life. Any real life relationship has an emotional basis (and need not have a physical aspect to it), so forming a similar emotional attachment to someone else (whether or not you actually meet) is without a doubt cheating. By the way, any other forum-folk on Second Life?
  8. now: Bison, I-Witness, Dyonoisis http://www.myspace.com/dyonisis ever: Blind Mole Rat
  9. did mine over the phone this year...as you say, only 5 mins or so and dead easy, and got my tax disk in the post 2 days later. an automated phone service that actually does what you want it to...bloody hell, whatever next?!
  10. i believe they're refurbishing the venue so there's not been much on for a while, though there's still the occasional night...dubcentral's there at the end of the month.
  11. cheers I'll be walking past in an hour or so, so if they're at it again I'll give 'em a ring.
  12. somewhere with more seats hopefully!
  13. I've noticed that they're burning a lot of the debris on site. Is that legal? Given that three fire engines were called and the road blocked off a few days back, I think we can assume it isn't safe!
  14. lol, uncanny! ...this morning before school..."look dad, i'm a stripy elephant!" (he had a stripy bath towel wrapped round himself too) aw bless
