  1. Are you still at western park if so are you there tomorrow.. If your not there have you moved on , and to where I really want my disabled son to see you as you enriched his heart and made him smile enormously after seeing previous times, but with what has been said this year about western park Santa I don't want my son to be let down by a Santa that has no heart. PLEASE REPLY
  2. If your children have a disability or illness then they are entitled from the age of 2 years. You would need a referral to the in continuance services for your 4year old from your health visitor, (some are quite reluctant in doing the referral or don't know how to do the referral ,but its easy and only one form) For any child over 5 it has to be done through GP ,again by referral and a form , They will both ask you how many nappies your child uses day and night , (be aware they will say you are only entitled to 3 or 4 BUT they can max to 5 but you have to push, this would be for your 4 year old only though) . They will also need to know what size waist your child is or what size nappies they use at the moment. If you require more info please get in contact Ope this does help you Regards Angel
  3. if your child has been assessed as having special needs , global development, speech etc ,then i would have thought that the consultant would have passed you on to the relevant agencies that needs to be involved in your childs needs, ie speech , physio and also portage pre school. i know that portage do a toddler group at ryegate children s center . i think it may be worth getting in contact with ryegate and asking them, alliteratively ask your gp for a specialist health visitor whom deals with disabilities or ask your consultant for relevant referrals asap, and it may also be worth looking on the forum at disability group. if you do need any more info i can see what i can find out for you regards angel
  4. Wanted free or very cheap Tractor tyre for disabled boy to make a raised sand pit Can you help Regards angel
  5. I have been there , my partner and children . To be honest I am not happy with there service But as we needed an NHS dentist that was taking on NHS we had little choice, it is in great need of paint , cleaning . I am now in the process of finding a private dentist and paying for treatment for the family as I feel this would be more better for the health of our families teeth. The man who does the treatment at this practice says one thing on one visit then you go for your treatment only to be told at the follow up appointment that more treatment is needed, then you come home do a little research on what he is/has recommended to find out he is not allowed to carry this treatment out himself but it needs a "specialist" to do the treatment To be honest it's a back street dentist with a back street attitude , that is my opinion ,as though he should not be in practice Again my experience and thoughts
  6. Ask for the incontinence nurse explain your situation and then she can order them for you by Fax This is where the incontinence service works from Shirley budd 7 Edmund road Sheffield 0114-271 6837 Ps Shirley budd is in higher authority so it may be an idea to ask for her first. Also since they changed the system of ordering any changes in size or product can now only be done via school nurse or Edmund road service. Regards Fallen angel

  17. I am looking for advise from any parent(s) looking into or has done home education with a child with S.E.N. with a statement in place. I'm looking deeply into this for various reasons and would like to make contact with any one with personal experiance and views. Ive also looked at HE Otherwise and a few other web sites, and this has helped quite alot. I dont want to start a debate of the rights or wrongs of thinking about home education as every parent has various views on how they choose to educate there child. And I am not a bad parent for wanting to look into home education ,just a parent that wants the very best for my child. regards Fallen Angel
  18. It would be for my son and as he will be at school the following Weeks it would not be a good idea to introduce him to something that would only be a one off. I wish you luck and hope people turn up and enjoy themselves Regards
  19. That's great for adults But it's a shame it's not also for the young ones As the younger ones would also benefit a great deal from this
  20. I have a child's manual wheel chair for sale if your intreseted, £45 Ono please pm
  21. This has given me food for thought as the saying goes. Go to ponds forge to seek childminders whom can care for your disabled child , enjoy a free activity , Activities will be run by coaches whom have had training in disabilities , But parent / career must supervise child at all times ! . Why if you are offering parents whom have a child or children with a disability to come along to this event for seeking specialist child care provision that you can not provide child care for that day for the prospective customer ! Sounds to me that you may perhaps not have the childcare to take care of a child/ children with a disability...
  22. Kids got into the tower block and messing around, they would not come out so police called for back up and dogs.
  23. I would have thought contacting your Derbyshire council first, if it's a council property and asking for them to assess your needs, You can also do a self referral to your local social services for adaptations where an OT would come and assess your needs as well as the house and see if any adaptions can be done, they then apply for a grant if over a certain amount called DFG If you own your home then you can still go through social services but you would be asked if you can put any money towards the adaptions Hope this helps
