  1. Sheffield Shopmobility: Sheffield shopmobility are a charity which provides mobility scootas and wheelchairs to people who need them. Their trademark is smiles open doors, and they live up to it. They are all really friendly and helpful. The website is here: http://www.shopmobility-sheffield.org.uk/ When you first go in,hey ask to see proof of ID such as an official letter, passport etc and they teach you how to use the equipment. If you wish to borrow for more than a day they also ask for a deposit of £20 for wheelchairs and £100 for scootas. Deposits are refunded after the item has been brought back. Wheelchairs are free to borrow, donations are apriciated but not required. Scootas are £2.50 for 3 hours, £4 for a day, £25 for a week. They have a safety policy of servicing all vehicles at least once every six weeks, (and after every use) if you need one for longer than that then they will ask you to bring it in after six weeks and they will give you another. They have three offices, eldon street (next to the tesco on west street), waingate (castle market) and crystal peaks. (chesterfield/meadowhall are different organisations.) If you want to buy a scoota/wheelchair, they are great people to ask for advice, because they are a charity with lots of experience, also they sometimes have a couple for sale, as they are always renewing their stock.

  4. I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. * Galileo Galilei, God does not play dice. and A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death. * Albert Einstein The religious persecution of the ages has been done under what was claimed to be the command of God. I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do to their fellows, because it always coincides with their own desires. * Susan B. Anthony "Wine gives a man nothing... it only puts in motion what had been locked up in frost." -Samuel Johnson

  7. hmm cameron had me in a serous fix the other day, he was confronted by a journalist and apeared to be speaking from the heart about somthing he believed in, there was no rhetoric or sound bite, just genuine emotion, I was shocked you dont expect that from a politician, least of all the Tory Leader. But at the moment on policy the tories sit to the left of new labour and the libdems sit to the left of them I think someone should shove the red flag up Gordon Browns arse and then crack tony blair with it, I personally sit to the left of castro, so seeing the labour party sit idly by whilst the royal mail shafts the unions by illegally hiring temps is infuriating. this country has gone up the ****ter, bring back tony benn and clement atley
  8. religion is just being used as an excuse, the real pieces in play are money and power, religion is just a smokescreen. brainwashing features heavily of course, I know the Israelis have dirty hands, but the way I see it the christians own half of the world, the muslims a third, and the jews get a pice of land between a rock and a hard place that nobody wants them to have. but on another note did you know that the family of an impoverished palestinian suicide bomber will never have to worry about money again? 99 virgins or a fed and safe wife and kids, whats the motives? no different in Ireland, loyalist and catholic both visit church often not out of piety but out of PATRIOTISM. in my ever humble opinion, people have been bending and misusing religious text to their own ends throughout history, politicians are more inclined to bend scientific facts, figures, and philosophy in modern secular society, but it leads the same way. best part is that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism (in alphabetical order to be impartial) all stem from the same root, and have the same God, he must be thrilled to see all his followers loving each other like the teachings tell them...
