  1. Thanks all for your comments, I've checks and the walls on the first floor are all stud walls. Will drill a test hole in the separating walls and see if that sheds light on it. Good idea about taking photos for the future
  2. The house I live in was built in the 80s. Originally it was an open lounge and dining room. The previous owners put a stud wall up to split them into 2 rooms Do I need to get building regs if I want to remove this wall to put it back to its original config?
  3. ROCKY!!! What a guy, came round straight away and sorted the job and left no evidence! Also provided very sound advice Def recommend this guy if you have drainage issues.
  4. Sheffield should never have got the Bessemer in the first place, it should have stayed in Workington
  5. I echo the last reply. I have always found jackie very attentive. Maybe you want to look at the tone of tone mail
  6. A classic example of "I cant be bothered to read the original post properly" The site confirmed in this case the bikes were to be used by a charity NOT for recycling So the "alright jack culture" you lovingly describe are actually doing something for the kids and local community
  7. As said in this case the bikes are for a charity sculpture, so why should they give one away to save a random person on the scrounge 50 quid
  8. Hi, I am the proud owner of an iggy. They are wonderful friendly dogs and surprisingly robust! I'm amazed not more people have them as the are a dog that fits in with both with children and adults. Although getting asked constantly if he is a puppy does wear a bit thin:)
  9. Hi jon Its a boiler you done the service on last week (thanks!!) The book seems to have gone awol and the boiler is in an old terrace house. Must admit im not even sure what the insurance liability will even cover given how long its been in
  10. Hi, yeah got one done last week and all was good. Now they have come back with this
  11. Hi, in process of moving house and had the following query, "I have not received from you the gas safety certificate confirming that building regs were compiled as part of the central heating installation, if you don't have this you need indemnity insurance" Does this sound right?! The system was installed in 2001
  12. When I got my kitchen refitted i got the oven relocated, so the pipe off the mains in the kitchen was relocated by a gas safe engineer and signed off by him. Now when I am selling my house they are asking for a building regs cert for the work - is this right should I have been issued one?
  13. Hi, so can an electrician PAT test and issue the certificate for someone elses work?
  14. I bought a house several years ago before certificate sign off for the work was required. Now I'm looking to sell the house and wondered if its possible to get the required certificate to confirm all is good. Was wondering if an electrician can do this given that they did not do the work?
