  1. I'm looking to get a tattoo of a lancaster bomber with "Bomber Command 1939-1945" done in tribute to my grandfather. Ive scowered the net looking for any design ideas, but simply cant find one. Can anyone recommend a place who could design one for me and do a great job? Thanks.
  2. How i would have enjoyed sticking your behind to your chair with super glue I hated school. Couldn't wait to leave in fact. Went straight to college, resat my GCSE's, got my A levels and then went onto uni where i flogged my guts out for my degree in Radiography. I did ten years at it, enjoyed it, but wanted something different. I now run my own succesful business. By rights i was a little sod at school, i was told i was a hopeless case.....It certainly makes for interesting conversation at the reunions. At the end of the day, you don't have to be academic to be successful and make something of your life. I wish the OP all the best with everything
  3. May be a little out of your way, but Harthill village hall has everything you want :-) you can hire it for private functions, it spacious too. It also has its own kitchen for you to use.
  4. Just the one?? Bet you didnt fit in then! If you owned a silver mark 1 focus at that time, im having you arrested! :suspect:
  5. Redmires. Never make the mistake i did and go after 9 at night.....
  6. Visit the "Hand made treasures" website. A lovely woman called Laura makes gorgeous cards for any occasions. Excellent prices too. She's based in Woodseats.
  7. Norwich it is then. I should thank my lucky stars that ive been offered the surgery else where. It sounds like there are many people who are suffering and will be for a long period of time.....
  8. Precisely what i was told Julado. Not untill the new financial year would they be taking new referrals. Thanks for the info.
  9. I am in need of a Trochleoplasty procedure on my knee. I was originally sent to Norwich as another specialist claimed there was no one local who had performed the procedure before. However i did some ringing around of medical secretaries and found a orthopaedic surgeon who peforms this surgery at the northern general. I was informed by this surgeons assistant to go to my GP and request a referral as a new system with the NHS means i can choose where i have treatment. So i saw my GP yesterday who informed me at the present time the Northern General are not accepting any orthopaedic or dermatology referrals untill April at the earliest. Dont get me wrong, im not complaining about any of my treatment, id just like to know if anyone can confirm or has heard of this before i have to travel to Norwich. Im happy to travel if it means i get my surgery done, but would prefer to have it done closer to home if possible.
  10. Wheres the "knickers" smilie when you want one?? My dad got in touch with a welder through Paddocks at Matlock, a guy behind the counter recommended him. Did a good job too.
  11. You men in your classic 4x4's!! You think you own the road!!
  12. Real 4x4's??? *coughs* are you being prejudice against the disco?? i have owned series two's and two 110's i'll have you know
  13. My noob should in no way be connected to SF Noob or any other Noob who uses the forum
  14. In that case i beg your pardon. It was a little hard to decipher the "them" part of your post. It seemed you were refering to 4x4's in general However it's still worth pointing out that people have a choice when choosing a vehicle. And if they couldn't afford to run it, i doubt they would buy it in the first place. So i dare say they wouldnt be bothered about being stung on either fuel or tax charges.
  15. As a discovery owner A, i use no more fuel than your average family saloon as i drive my landrover appropriately. And B, because mine was registered before the date of the tax oomph, i pay just over £100 for six months, which for me is more than managable. I'd also like to add that my old tub does 0-40 mph in three days, its not a vehicle that was built for zooming about. Mr landrover man/woman who this post was originally about obviously drives like a grade A noob, but for every idiot in a 4x4, there are the good ones who drive fine but still get stereo typed
  16. Indeed Banker. From some vital information given to me by Hillsbro, it would appear that Don did indeed work for the midland bank. Many thanks, i hope i find her too :-)
  17. Many, Many thanks for your information Hillsbro :-)
  18. Im trying to trace my cousin Donna "Rodgers". She would be forty years old now. Last known address was Daneham Drive at Clifton in Rotherham, I believe its possible the family later moved to Sheffield. Her mother and father were June and Don Rogers, Her mother worked as a nurse for Robert Jenkins and her father was a bank messenger. My father is Leslie Johnson-Junes Brother. Junes mother and Father were Wilf and Betty Johnson and lived in Kimberworth. Sadly a family fued a few years before my birth meant that ive never actually had the pleasure of meeting Donna and my Aunty June. I would love to get in touch with them, but i appreciate and undestand that under the circumstances contact may be unwanted, but i do hope that time has allowed old wounds to heal. Thankyou.
  19. Ive just had a look on trip advisor at some of the comments on The Peacock. A great deal of the comments left by people all point out the landlords customer relation problem. After seeing some of his replies to the comments (stop hiding behind a screen etc etc) it seems to me he isn't even slightly concerned at what people think of his establishment. I'd hold your breath for your reply, i daresay it will be colourful to say the least. As for complaining at the time, Mr Webb comes across as some one who probebly wouldnt be that bothered you weren't happy.
  20. Yeah...the rutland arms Hotel, in Bakewell. With the elderley gent who owned it and went on about Alex's breasts a lot
  21. Not to be confused with the Peacock at Rowsley (just down the road) For less than £110 you could have had triple the service and luxury. I stayed at the Rowsley Peacock for my fifth wedding anniversary and it was lovely. 1st class rooms and food. Sorry you had such a bad experience.
  22. Cheers for the info. Me thinks i may have to pay a visit to the dinnington delivery office, see if i can pick up our mail.
  23. Im on Redhill. People on Saxon Road havent had any either. My mum in Harthill hasnt had any since monday last week.
