  1. So the Lions Lair is officially a gay pub from tomorrow, anyone going down?
  2. The special effects was amazing, the bit where that guy gets eaten alive by those giant grub leech things with the foreskin and teeth looks so realistic and disturbing!
  3. The problem with Fuel for me is the music, the sooner they get the other room open the better, hate dancing to funky house most of the night its so boring, much prefer disco/pop/retro Any idea when this new room gonna materialise, oh and the carpets are getting sticky, rip em up faast!
  4. I just knew it would be some back-alley pub in the city centre, dont mean to be negative but no it aint gonna last either because the whole area the Lions Lair sits on will be demolished in the next few years to make way for the New Retail Quarter.
  5. Climax was fantastic last night, its not the longest running gay night in Sheff for no reason!
  6. What an amazing film! The Empire States climax is just breathtaking, this mve makes you realise how barbaric and cruel humans are as a species. Well done Peter Jackson another masterpiece!!
  7. I do like the City Hall ballroom, luv the retro disco-dancefloor, much better dancing on that than some stale old carpet from the 90s like some clubs. Always thought the music was pretty good at Fairy Liquid too:thumbsup:
  8. She actually played 2 dates in Manchester and a massive one at Slane Castle in Dublin last year as well as London, so don't rule her out, highly unlikely she will play Sheff though.
  9. I'm absolutley loving the album, Jump is probably my fav track at the moment, her vocals are just classic Madonna on this track it gotta be a single!!! Future Lovers and How High just stunning too and Foridden love just oozes class! Just watched The KoKo live webcast from London and her perform was amazing the end of I Love New York where the music and strobes was going mental and she was down and all fours just dancing like crazy was exhilarating to watch, no other performer comes close IMO!! Totally inspirational, awesome woman, Godess!!! Oh and the video screen backdrops of her crazy dancing in THAT red dress stunning!!! Pic here You can watch the concert again streaming on AOL here You can listen to the audio ofthe KoKo gig here "You can Love me or Leave me but Im never gonna stop" (Madonna)
  10. How about a Oceana venue in Sheffield, like the 7million one that opens in Leeds this Friday? Oceana Leeds Even Gatecrahser has now opened a superior version of the Sheffield original in Leeds with europes largest video screen dance floor:rolleyes: Discotheque Gatecrasher Leeds
  11. Interesting statistics, cant believe Glasgow is that much wealthier, will be interesting to see figures for 2005.
  12. Those figures are three years old, Leeds no ordinary city website stated in 2004 the Leed economy was worth 12billion. New Business.co.uk state this year Leeds GDP to be £10billion. Lots of conflicting information out there!
  13. Where did you get those figures from its more like Sheffield's economy = around 0.7% of the Leeds economy. Sheffield's economy is now worth £7 billion per year with leeds economy worth just over £10billion a year, however in the last couple of years in particular Sheffield as started closing the gap on leeds.
  14. Its not the most groundbreaking Madonna record ever, she's obviously just in the mood to have some fun and make some pure pop again like she did in the 80s. It's great she's giving fans something they can go crazy over, Im sure most fans know already but the world premiere of the video is on C4 tomorrow night (27th Oct) at 11:05pm:thumbsup:
  15. According to the KnightFrank report Sheffield is now the most desirable city outside London for investment, so fingers crossed. http://www.makeitinsheffield.com/n_item.aspx?nl_id=116
  16. I actually think it could bring more investment towards Sheffield not pull investment away from us, Yorkshire is very big after all.
  17. leeds seems to be getting some of the things that make Sheffield stand out, like the new Gatecrasher nightclub that as opened in leeds and now there getting a state of the art arena bigger than ours:( Leeds Arena More about the leeds arena At least their ambitions for a leed supertram look dead in the water, to make matters worse it looks like the they will lose 2.4billion investment because of it:clap: http://www.ypn.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=55&ArticleID=1232348
  18. Hi thanks for the comments I'm just in the process of learning CBT, introduced to me by a counsellor provided by my employer (unfortunately though I only get to see her once a month for about an hour, because she covers a huge area of the country) so I have also purchased the cognitive behavioural therapy book 'Mind Over Mood' to work through. I have taken citalopram before and it did reduce my anxiety and help me enjoy my life again, but took about 5-6weeks before I felt any really benefit, I did find the side-effects pretty awful though but the symptoms did fade over time. My GP told me that escitalopram is the successor to citalopram and has less reported side-effects than citalopram but as all the same benefits. Im not quite sure what to think because I researched the drug on the internet last night and read reports stating escitalopram has no proven advantage over citalopram and actually costs less money to produce than citalopram:confused: I've taken half of my first 10mg tablet today as advised by my GP to take 3 half tablets before a full 10mg to help reduce the initial shock of the medication, I'm already feeling quite disorientated and numb, really dreading tonight and tomorrow morning waking up, previously found these the worse times of the day for me last time round
  19. My GP has just prescribed me 10mg daily of escitalopram, as I been suffering with worsening anxiety attacks over the last 4-5 months. I would really appreaciate some comments from anyone who as taken this medication. I've taken citalopram before which I believe is very similiar to escitalopram. I'm really scared about starting taking this medication because of the strong side effects (nausea, tremors, confusion) I experienced last time I took citalopram, which lasted for a few weeks until my body adjusted to the drug. Really feeling desperate for a break from the constant anxiety Im going through, tried propranol over the last 6weeks and it been no help, also in the stages of getting some counselling through work.
  20. Yeeaa! It's official just heard it on Radio Sheffield too, the tower has finally been approved by the council:clap:
  21. The council this afternoon has either approved or rejected another resubmission for the 32storey Heart of the City tower. Here's a render of what the revised tower looks like. Anyone heard the outcome yet?
  22. Your very welcome Mr! I did have a very gud night from what I can remember:clap:
  23. Went to Climax last night and had a great time, it was really busy, really pleased that the presence of Fuel in Sheffield hasn't had much of an effect on Climax's turnout. Lots of homo-mad promotions going on and was suprised when the Freemasons came on stage and sang 'Love On My Mind' followed by Rozalla, lol! Liking all the projection screens and lighting around the Dj and stage looks really cool.
  24. To tempt custom from Climax, but to be fair Fuel has approached the organisers at the University with a view of working together but was ignored.
