Subways are rubbish as pedestrians cross the road, by going under the road, this means that traffic flows freely above. The new system of pedestrian crossings works, as it stops traffic flowing freely (please refer to brook hill roundabout) thereby creating congestion. New system good, old system bad.

I was takin the mick out of the town planners. ie ... its only 10p per day, bargain at half the price, but its not another tax (honest). The potential for fines to be handed out and for the bailiffs to be sent in. One poster claimed that sending the bailiffs in won't kill the householder. I personally see this thing for what it is, simply a revenue generating top up to the council tax. AS for the claim that its to stop commuter parking, er... ahem.....on Saturdays? Someones telling porky pies

Something that does worry me is the fact that no MP (or prospective one) can raise issues that worry the general public. At this moment in time its immigration..... NO DEBATE In the future it could be another subject, that cannot be debated/raised. People may feel threatened by this subject but it has to be raised by mainstream political partys, otherwise a nice party called the BNP will bring up the subject.

YOU can't see anything rediculous.... ahemm Shift work = funny times of work = lack of public transport = needs for a car. As for the costs involved... do car drivers not pay enough, road tax, insurance etc....

Problem is though is that hes resigned. So who speaks for people who are worried about this issue? Should it be discussed or not?

A tory MP called Nigel Hastillo, voices an opinion and is immediatly called to see the Party Charman to get his hands slapped. He resigns as he doesn't want to derail Mr David Camerons vision/goals...... of recieveing another hammering at the next general election. But what do you think? should an MP speak his mind freely, or is immigration a tabboo subject ? VOTE !!!

I support a bus gate on the wicker..... NOONE and I mean NO ONE lets you out from bus stops and the only way round this is to pull out, forcing the cars to hit the brakes hard. Not everyone needs to is use the wicker to get about, for example someone travelling from Intake to Gleadless doesn't need to travel on the wicker The sooner cars are banned from this road the better

Hey you lot .... SKINFLINTS !!! The first permit costs £36 YES ......that's about 10p per day. Its a civislised society so pay up, and if you don't we'll fine you and if you don't pay the fine we'll send the bailiffs in !!!!! These little taxes are amazing, you back down on one and before you know it another one pops up. Believe me, anything to do with the car has alot more milage in terms of extra taxes here and there. STAND UP TO THIS ....

Goodness me, have people no morals? There are some things that should only be done behind closed doors.... NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF A RESIDENTIAL STREET !!! :rant:

Did anyone watch Tarzan on TV? if so, this could deter trick or treaters 1) Did a deep hole in your garden (say about 15 feet deep) 2) Cover it 3) Up steps the trick or treater, walks up to your door.... they then fall into the hole. 4) The hungry crocodile who is inside the hole, then takes appropriate action. 5) Result = no trick or treaters knocking on your door.

I know of a friend who was a fitness freak, who almost died of a heart attack at the age of 32. Most of his elderly relatives died of heart attacks. The point I'm making is, is that I believe illnesses like cancer are related to your genes and it silly for people to say by being thin you can avoid this disease. As for the BMI index, did you know most of the England Rugby team are classed as obese according to their BMI...... so the BMI is hardly a yardstick for fitness levels

Problem is though, if people roll over and die (or move on as you put it). The powers that be more than happy to implement more unpopular (probably money making) schemes. And believe me, theres plenty more mileage for schemes which take more and more of your hard earned money....

According to the news, there is yet another health scare. Unless we are thin we may get cancer. Do we get sick of hearing the experts giving us advice, or do we take it seriously? I remember at one point, excersise was the key to avoiding a heart attack, however, there are fitness freaks that do keel over with a heart attack in their 30's, yet a pie muncher could happily live into old age? Does lifestyle make any difference to your life expectancy?

Good point !!! How about charging them a fortune for a 2nd permit, and if they still don't obey the rules (or do as they are told), fine them and if that doesn't get the message through, send the bailiffs round..... BTW.... that sort of thing would never happen to honest hard working people would it?

Depends though what the purpose of the new road system is..... Is it to help traffic flow, or is it to create congestion? The Mobray St Junction for example, appears to have created the mother of all gridlocks

The problem is all the oppostion partys, seems to have the same views especially towards cars.
