  1. Thaiboxing - Wicker Camp MMA - The Forge (under Sheffield's only BJJ black belt)
  2. Fren, for sure, best defence is make flying headbutt and shout "JIU-JITSU!"
  3. So, what you're effectively saying is that, even in the context of your shows, this concept is nothing new...
  4. K1 was designed specifically to create a ruleset and event that allowed stand-up fighters to compete on as level a playing field as possible. Recently, the Japanese have been accused of modifying the rules to disadvantage Muay Thai fighters and give their native Karateka a bit more of a chance. Fact is, when two stand-up fighters have collided with either 1) minimal rules (such as in the early UFCs - where, by the way, your "someone will shoot" hypothesis didn't actually occur every time) or 2) original K1 rules, the Thaiboxers have won. I won't comment about TKD as my opinions on it are well known...and have been heavily influenced by "The Foot Fist Way" and this video in particular:
  5. Bloody charming! Professor, I always make my best fight for you my fren. No make estupro no more!
  6. Old, broken, does Judo and TJJ, instructs at the new club. Not too hard to guess
  7. The only nationally (and internationally) renowned gym in Sheffield is Wicker Camp.
  8. "Red Mist Promotions" bounced a cheque for £850 for the cage/MC for their event and failed to pay many of the UK fighters. More info on a 70+ page (!) thread here on Cagewarriors: http://www.cagewarriors.com/forums/showthread.php?67110-RED.-MIST.-PROMOTIONS-%28Jamie-Rees-amp-Brian-Aitken%29 I've posted this before and its been deleted before...doubtless someone doesn't want this information on here...guess what? Its in the public domain and people have the right to know. Needless to say, Brian Aiken and Jamie Rees are pretty much persona non grata in UKMMA now.
  9. ^^Lol. Will Brian Aiken and Jamie Rees be there? I've heard that lots of people in UKMMA are talking about them.
