Baldwins Omega?
Vodka Revolution?
Various hotels in the city do functions at Xmas.....
it depends what you want to spend, if you want a meal or just a disco???.....
Â
Thanks for that Simon - I realise that hotels etc do functions but am having problems finding anywhere that's not booked up! Just wondered whether anyone on here knew if there's a venue where bookings are still being taken.

Congratulations Baileys mum on taking that first step. As I know its a hard decision to make as you feel like a bit of a failure at not being able to sort it out yourself without taking medication. I've been on Seroxat for a year now and its totally changed my life. I think positively and really enjoy life now. Sorry you can't get counselling help any sooner I was lucky as I was working in the NHS and they provided that support to me.
Â
Hope the sun starts shining soon and 12 months is a long time but you never know think positive an appt could come up before you know it!

I get a Patak's curry paste.
Â
Slice a onion and then cook until soft, add 5 teaspoons of paste, whatever meat you fancy I usually use chicken, cook until meat is cooked on each side, add tin chopped toms and a bit of water, cover and cook for about 20 mins, checking occasionally to make sure its not going dry. Lovely!
Â
Also I sometimes use prawns cook as above but add prawns in just before the end of cooking otherwise they go tough if they're cooked too long.
Â
Try it you'll enjoy

Think seriously about coming back. Immigrants seem to get much better treatment here now than people with an English passport.
Â
NHS is in a total mess don't know how old you are but if you've been in Oz for 43 years you must be in a more mature age group. Think seriously about this point. I'm dreading getting old in this country and am fearful in case me or any of my family should have to go into hospital at this present time.
Â
Stay in the sunshine. The grass always seems greener on the other side - and with the rain we're having it looks very green here at the moment!

Trying to find a venue for works Xmas party - about 150 people. Does anyone know any places available that would suit?
-
I'd be interested in attending at classes on London Road. Never done yoga before could you tell me a bit more about it, what you need to wear and how much does it cost to attend. Thanks

Finding it really interesting to see what other people like to read. Just wonder if there would be any merit in doing a book swap, ie post on books we've got and what we'd like back. Would be interested in other SF members comments on this

I just factor Paypal charges into the price as everybody should.[/quote]
Â
Problem is by doing this you can put buyers off with excessive P&P charges.

I started reading the new Harry Potter recently.
Â
Won't tell you what happens!
-
Just wondered what you may be reading. I'm into My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult and its really good.

Hi, i've started to sell on Ebay this year. Trouble with Paypal is it takes a percentage of profit on top of ebays final fee. Hence you end up paying Ebay listing and selling fee and then Paypal. What I've done is indicating to buyers that I prefer cheque, po or banker's draft and am willing for them to pay via Paypal but charge extra for this. To be honest not had any problem with this only thing is if you have to keep going to bank to pay cheques in. If you get po's for payment you can cash them at a Post office unless they're crossed. But what i tend to do if they are crossed is use these po's to pay for the postage - the Post Office are happy to accept crossed po's for payment and will give you the balance of the po back in cash. Hope this helps. PM if you need any more info

Me and the girlfriend are thinking of going to either Amsterdam or Paris for 2/3 nights on my birthday in December.
Â
Can anyone give any opinions on which is better, more fun, and cheaper?
Â
I think Amsterdam would be the better choice, but Paris is more Romantic.
Â
How much would you spend going to Paris as I presume it will be more expensive than Amsterdam..
Â
Anyway, can I hear your thoughts on both Amsterdam and Paris.
Â
Thanks
Â
Amsterdam is a bit cheap and tacky although there are nice bits you can have a lovely cruise on the canal. There's Anne Frank's museum. Also Van Gough's exhibition is v good. Paris is really good easily spend a day in the Louvre, can see Eiffel tower, Arc de Triomph. Great night life on the west bank. Spend a lovely day around Sacre Coere and Monmatre, however, if it was me I would go to Bruge absolutely heaven there, lots to do, probably cheaper than Amsterday and Paris and an ace place for buying chocs for Xmas. Wherever you go hope you have a great time!

What is there in Sheffield at night for over 40's - anyone have any ideas?
-
We used the book a few years ago for English GCSE. I think its a great read and really enjoyed discussing it in class.
-
Can anyone tell me the actor's name who played Travolta's husband. Been trying to remember all week!
-
That once happened to me with eggs from Morrisons most of the box of 6 were double yokers.

Went to see Hairspray at the flicks on Tuesday and its absolutely fab. Great movie for a girls night out, laughed and laughed as did the rest of the audience. My opinion best film of 2007 so far

Any worked via Office Angels at Northern Gen Hospital. If so, how much did you get paid? Think I'm being ripped off.
-
I went for the 3rd time last Saturday, very busy but only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. really enjoyed it, the food is spicier than Indian food.
Â
Good service, good food, v good indeed.
Â
Hi, want to go this Saturday, what time did you go?
-
Feel sorry for you. Its not anything to do with colour. I'm white and had a job working with all white workmates. Some of them went out for a walk each lunchtime. One morning I asked if they'd mind if I joined them for a bit of fresh air was told "you're not one of our gang" and these were people aged from 35 - 50. In our office we're always getting new temps and I'm sure they feel a bit out of it but we do try to let them be part of the team.
Â
Arseoles comes to mind!!! Just think you'll get your degree and they'll all still be doing the same crap job in 20 years time!
-
If they are up late at night, they are waking up late in the day.
Â
Why dont you switch your household cleaning to the hours of 9am and put your music on full blast?
Â
Fire with fire.
Â
Good idea - switch it on and leave it running, or perhaps you like music too!
-
Thanks everyone. I'm going to pluck up courage and do it!
-
What would you do? I've a friend who I've not seen for 12 years but we keep in contact via bday cards and xmas cards. I really miss seeing her but whereas she's got a high powered job, I'm a part-time working mum and I'm not sure whether we'd have much in common. Would you get in touch?
-
Does anyone have any natural remedies for constipation? My friend who's pregnant doesn't want to take any drugs for this. Any ideas?

It is easy to criticise the NHS but I work for them and see things that are going on at the moment.
Â
Agree about the countryside but from what I hear the Health Service in Oz is far superior than ours.
