  1. Im trying for a baby and want know is it important to have plenty of excerise before up untill after u have given birth?

I read its important so your body is fit and you will have an health pregancy and helps for reshaping your body afterwards.

    Is this true??

Can anyone give advice on the best excerise??

Can only think of the obvious - and it burns calories.

To be honest I think that's a load of bunkum. As long as you're healthy, dont' smoke, take drugs and don't drink, eat healthily then you're doing the best for your baby. As for reshaping your body afterwards, believe me with the running around you'll be doing and if you breastfeed you'll soon shape up. I was reading an article by Davina McCall and she said it takes 9 months to make a baby and she allows herself 9 months to get back to pre-pregnancy shape which seems very sensible to me. Good luck!

  2. One girl for example and her family had just moved into their home the week before, all their things still in boxes on the ground floor, then they went to the seaside for a week. The insurance had yet to be sorted out - the flood hit whilst they were away - they lost the lot.

    A victim of unfortunate circumstances.

Sorry I've moved house twice and each time made sure my insurance was in place. She had time to plan for a holiday and didn't have time to sort out insurance - can't catch my breath!

Why don't the Council just advertise in the Star for unwanted furniture from Sheffield householders - I'm sure we've all got bits and pieces that we could give. At least it would give them something till they had chance to save their own money up to get the things they need!

  3. Sorry, I know this is going to upset people but I'm really cross that the Council is going to help people who've not got insurance. As far as I'm concerned its their own fault. I know some people probably do have problems paying for it but there will be others who see it as not a priority and continue to pay for fags, keep pets, have loads of kids, whatever.

Surely by bailing out these people all it does is tells others what's the point in being responsible for your own lives/belongings when the good citizens of Sheffield who pay 100% or whatever they can of their Council tax will bail me out.

Good on you flood victims who have been responsible to buy insurance. I'm sorry through no fault of your own your insurance premiums will go up but at least you can hold your head up high! (got that off my chest now, sorry for upsetting people but we're all entitled to an opinion and I guess you'll be expressing that)

  4. Hi, I'm also just about to get a new kitchen. I would be very wary if you've already been given a quote - you've not said whether this was a written one or not - and now they seem to be changing the goalposts. It sounds as if you're using a large company and perhaps the designer doesn't know much about electrical stuff - even so he should have stated this beforehand and I would have expected to be that there could be extra charges incurred. Not sure if you're using a national company named after a marine animal but if you are I would be very wary as they've been slated on TV.

Installer I'm going use is a local chap, years of experience. He came last night and quoted for everything including electrics and I feel confident that he'll do a good job.

If you're having second thoughts now I'd really give it some thought. I tend to go with my gut feeling and so far, fingers crossed, not been let down yet.

  5. It's my birthday at the end of August and am planning a night out at the Comedy Club which is now in the City Hall. Been told its a great night out. One of my workmates has a part-time job there. Apparently you can buy something to eat they do meat and tattie pie (with Hendersons relish), chilli and other stuff.

At the end of the show they move tables/chairs off the dance floor and you can have a dance. Also the ballroom has a disco till 4.00 am and you can pay an extra charge and go in there (personally I need my bed after 1.00 am).

  6. You've been done good and proper. We went to Dublin a couple of years ago and it was about £20 each way - we stayed in the centre of Dublin.

For info: we recently went to Cyprus which we booked independently. I surfed before hand to find out how much it was to travel to Protaras and by prebooking it was going to be extortionate. Was a lot cheaper just to get a taxi from the airport

  7. My ma's been doing it since Feb and has lost just over a stone. I've also started doing it lost about 6lb. Hardest bit for me is not drinking but if you have a gin and slimline tonic its only one point. Tip for going to pub: every couple of drinks have a soda and lime, water, diet coke.

I've cut out bread and I think that's helped a lot. For breakfast try porridge with sultanas its lovely and really filling.

Good luck - will keep in touch and we can give each other inspiration.

  8. I use Flightline quite often. Also Excel have good prices. Could also try Ryanair - they fly to Girona coastline is the Costa Brava. Re booking accommodation I always go onto trip advisor, you can put in the area that you're interested in and they bring up suggested accommodation and you can read the travellers reviews.

Alpha rooms are quite good re cost wise for accommodation.

  9. I think its about attitude Sidewinder. I have never been treated as a second class citizen, in fact I would say the reverse - I have always been very well looked after. But then I have never given a second class service (I'm not suggesting that you or anyone else on this thread has done so either).

I have never had the attitude 'oh well, I'm only temporary so I can just do a half baked job'. I suppose I'm getting out of it what I'm putting in.

Re the perks - it all depends what you want in your life. For me, being able to pick and choose where and with whom I work IS a perk and being able to take more than 4 weeks annual leave if I wish to IS another perk and never having to get involved in the office politics IS another enormous perk. So in that respect I'm a happy bunny. :)

Totally agree with you Discovery. This is my second time at temping and really like it. No office politics, pick your own holidays. Its a 2 way thing - the better service you give (not suggesting that anyone hasn't) rewards will come your way. I once had a temp job and the boss was pleased enough with my work to ring my agency and ask for my pay rate to be put up. After temping now for just over a year I'm not sure that I want to be permanent with a company again to me its like being your own boss.

  10. Next Clearance is only full of the rubbish they couldn't sell elsewhere

Ive been to a few Next clearance shops - Sheffield, Lakeside (Doncaster) and Leeds and do tend to agree with Damo. I love Next clothes but can never really find a bargain in the Next clearance although my sister has bought quite a bit of stuff for her kids from there
