  1. Hi I own Bluwater and we have a broad locally supplied lunch menu. We are a bar without pretensions. Recent write ups in the Star and Telegraph can be "googled" to give you an idea if it is your style or not. Call me if you have any questions on 2754365 Bob
  2. Hi I own Bluwater and have done plenty of christenings, we are more of a bar that does really good food than a pub but if you have a brief i can offer some prices. Ielow I have attached a couple of links, one a recnt review in the telegraph and the second a "spin Sheffield" pic of victoria quays inc. Bluwater prices vary with numbers, style of event, catering, date and time etc etc Bob http://www.spinsheffield.com/tours/Victoria_Quays/1 http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/foodguide/Blu-heaven-by-the-canal.4181235.jp
  3. Its not finished yet and already looks dated !
  4. Martyn Dawes pays his way and writes honestly, but it is only an opinion and you may disagree ! Thats journalism. The Telegraph also write up local restaurant reviews, Leslie Draper ( who also pays her way ) is the main columnist. I have been subject to a visit from both recently and find the reviews helpful and constructive. There are many online restaurant sites which allow anyone to post a review subject to certain legal criteria so perhaps an oppurtunity beckons
  5. i specialise in bespoke parties at Bluwater, usually food involved but the rest is up to you pm me with a brief and budget and i can give you some ideas Bob

  8. Does it have to be a restaurant ? I have a bar which has a fantastic locally themed menu. Recent review in the telegraph http://www.sheffieldtelegraph.co.uk/foodguide/Blu-heaven-by-the-canal.4181235.jp
  9. I may be able to help with the venue depending on time but my Kitchen is my business and cannot let you use that. There is too much risk of contamination to my food product which would invalidate the due diligence clause in my insurance
  10. How many people, what is the date, how long do you need and what facilities ?
  11. Bluwater on Victoria quays has free Wi Fi for customers
  12. Hi for visitors my food at Bluwater is locally sourced, largley organic and reasonably priced (£10 or less) so we are offering a true taste of the best Yorkshire and Derbyshire has to offer. We are informal with plenty of "corners" for those that like privacy and a cobbled canalside seated area as an option for when the weather is fine
  13. try looking through the works of Ogden Nash or Ezra Pound. both light hearted, well written and something a 14 year old may enjoy reading to the assembled
  14. you can plug a keyboard into your lap top when you need to "q"
  15. Bluwater Is Just 5 Mins From The Station And Open Every Sunday Lunch
  16. Hi I am at the bottom of Parkway (5 mins from the M1 )and have sourced a menu which has about 85% of its offerings from within 20 miles of Sheffield. We make nearly everything ourselves including bread, blackpudding and scotch eggs as well as the more regular items. The menu is on my website (under reconstuction) at http://www.bluwaterbar.co.uk or call me on 2754365 if you want more info

  19. Michael Palin Came Up With A Good One At Weekend "the U Turn Party " Make A Policy Listen To The Complaints And Then Do The Opposite ! Perhaps The Current Pm Has Beat Him To It !
  20. I think the meadowhall situation is a get out a council with no idea how to promote a local economy use. If shopping centres are so bad for city centres why has Newcastle survived the metro centre, Manchester the trafford centre, leeds has White Rose and the Owl cotes centre to contend with ? I live in both Leeds and Sheffield and the city council here are hopeless. They scare away business and the city centre is left without variety. Only recently Bar 23 has had its opening hours curtailed at the same time as winning the local bar awards. How can creative people plan when other cities wouls allow them more flexibility .
  21. Not Used To Being Called A Liar ! Try Typing In Capitals And Press Quick Reply It Comes Out Like This
  22. Sorry About Format But Typed It All In In Caps And It Comes Out Like This ! Must Be A Forum Thing
  23. I Dont Understand Why Folk In Sheffield Dont Expect To Pay For Car Parking. I Have Been Here 5 Years After Living All Over The Uk And A Little In Europe And The Parking Seeems Cheap In What Is The Fourth Biggest English City. When Compared To Birmingham Or Manchester Cities Of Comparable Size It Seems A Bargain. City Centre Land Is All Owned By Somebody And Landowners Buy Land To Make Money. The Up Side Of The Investment In Land Ownership Is All The Development That Can Be Seen In The City.
