  4. Hi just returned from a trip to ingoldmells market, as you walk round you see the "auctions" with the crowd holding their hands in the air, the "auctioneer" ranting about xboxes, psp's, mobile phones etc, etc "all brand new, boxes a little tatty" he might say, but to be honest, its that long winded by the time he gets to the crunch ive got bored and left, so i'm wondering if anyone on this forum has actually stayed till the death, and will share with us what super "bargains" they got at the end. How many walked away with, lets say the latest mobile phone or Xbox. And more importantly if not, how did the auctioneer wangle out of it Thankyou.
  5. BECAUSE OF THE SHOCKING ROAD SURFACE'S It starts on the parkway all the way in.. bump ....bump...bump we must have the worse roads in BRITIAN!! Even the "new road" off the parkway towards crystal peaks is terrible now, even worse coming towards town. Have we got the worse road workers or what? Can they lay a road? End of moan.
  6. wor a'bart booit for boot n tarn for town.
  7. If someone come up with this idea i think it would do well. All sunday league players reach this age sooner or later and then have to make a choice, either pack in or play on a Saturday. Personally i work most Saturdays or go to a Match, so Sunday mornings has always been my preference, but now i'm fed up of chasing young whipper snappers up and down the wing, so come on,someone start a league.......PLEASE.

And who can forget Harringtons, Everybody in sheff must have bought summat from there.
  11. How come the crucible got the snooker in the first place, who was behind it, its a bit embarassing on the telly when the players are on video trying to be cool an behind them is the grafitti on the walls,it makes sheff look a right dump. But never the less i love the world championships being held at sheffield, always watched it, an always will. Good on yer anyway, whoever you are.
  12. Anyone see the streaker today at the final session, i think it was that scouser bloke the cameras panned away so you couldn't quite tell. Anyway it didn't put the rocket off, well done Ronnie.
  13. Anyone know a good curry recipe, my mate swears by this one. (Iv'e tried it an its sound) BEST BEEF CURRY EVER. 900g/2lb lean brazing steak (cut into 1"cubes 3tbls seasoned flour 5tbls sunflower oil 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp ground coriander 1/2 tspground ginger 1 tsp ground turmeric 1/4 tspground mace 2- 6 fresh chillies (depending on taste) 2 onions finely chopped 3 cloves of garlic 150 ml 1/4 pint rich beef stock (3 oxo cubes in 1/4 pint of water 2x400g chopped tomatos salt & pepper (Can also add some chopped mushrooms) Coat the cubes of steak in the seasoned flour. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Sear the meat in batches, using a slotted spoon or spatula to transfer the meat to a plate. Add the spices (use another tbls of oil if required) and stir over a moderate heat.Cook for 1 min, and then add onions, chillies ,and garlic.Stir in the meat and the stock, then the tomatos and season to taste. Bring to the boil, then simmer, cover and cook for 1 to 1 an half hours stirring occasionally, until the meat is tender. Remove the lid for the final 1/2 hour to allow the sauce to reduce. Serves four. Serve with Basmati Rice. 1 an half cups of rice 3 cups of water add a little salt, put on heat till boilng, then simmer for ten mins with firm lid on pan then rice is perfect. TRY IT . GOOD LUCK.

  15. Is it me or do you miss the sheffield show in hillsborough park? Iv'e been to one in Graves park , but to me it wasn't the same am i just been sentimental? And what else does the park have to offer to the sheffield public? I used to love the SS all the stalls the army's famous Wall (but i were too youg) horses ,getting into a fire engine and them bikes you could go on driving round that make believe road with the junctions.Plus you used to go home with a bag full of baloons and badges and stickers it were great.

  20. The Cathrine do me a favour, I used to go in there when i was 16 and it had half a dozen old men playing dominoes to go with there halfs of bitter! nobody batted an eyelid to me an my mate so we could just sit there and get totaly pi55ed. The Freemasons in hillsborough... hmm before it was refurbished it had a problem with dope smokers in the corner, but i wouldn't say it was the roughest or hardest pub. It depends what you define as rough, personally i think it comes down to the publican who runs the pub. You let gangs of drug smoking morons in, turn the light off, put thumping music on have them bumping into themselves on the floor, then its a recipe for disaster. Every pub has hard men goin in them, but its not the hardest pub until the hardest man is in that pub!!!! Ps used to go in the Magnet and never had a problem.
