  1. i know what u mean, basically a field where kids can be kids and not worried about damaging the grass. I've just check out Grouse & Claret Campsite on AA route planner and from city center of shef it takes 37 mins and is only 20 miles. I would personally recommend this site because: - It has a great play area for kids, - depending where everyone pitches their tents there is plenty of space for kids to play, me and niece were able to play Frisbee / football / and tennis with no problem (could be an issue if full) - there is a river at the bottom of the site and kids can play it in, (its not that deep, but I didn't go all the way in) - Nice pub on site to eat at / get drinks to take to your tent - plenty to do near by, village of Bakewell, and Buxton - plenty of nice walks to do,
  2. are u able to drive there or do you need to use public transport, makes a difference there is Fox Head Campsite and thats in sheff
  3. i know of a great one in Edale, called FieldHead campsite but if you dont mind going a bit further check out Grouse and Claret Campsite this one is really good for kids, we took niece there and she loved it.

  10. but I have seen people camping with Tv's etc so a microwave probably isn't that far fetched for some campers.
  11. micro waves a might not get in my bag when I'm back packing through Britain. Might get some weird looks taking a electrical cable up Ben Nevis as well
  12. I used to have one of these tents and if your a newbie to camping i would recommend you buying this. Its a steel at £40 and you can never go wrong with a Vango tent, if i didnt all ready 5 tents and the garage is full of camping equipment I would have been tempted to purchase as a spare, just in case. Hope someone buys this and enjoys camping in Britain

  14. I would have to say any time between May and August, Mays usually cheaper and sites are not as buys as kids are still at school and you are more likely to get good weather, however this is Britain after all. I have been camping in December and its been pretty warm and been flooded out in August. But overall stay between May and August would be fine and most campsites are open at this time so you have more choice. Hope this helps.
  15. check out www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk you can search by caravan storage and yorkshire, hope that helps you.
  16. Hi, I have never really used either I just perfer to find my own site, usually by searching on http://www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk and going away to where I want to go. If you want to join either one of them, why not look at where their caravan sites are and see which ones you would like to go to and make your decision that way, go on the location of the sites rather than by what benefits you are getting.
  17. here is a link to the Zoar campsite for you http://www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk/holidays/2378/Zoar-Campsite I have never been but looks nice and is recommend above
  18. there are quite a lot of camping sites in Devon / Cornwall, after Yorkshire they have the largest amount of camping sites, so there should be enough to meet your needs. If you do follow on Twitter and message @campingsites i have noticed that you can ask them to find you your perfect camping site and they try there best for you, might be worth a try
  19. check out @CampingSites there giving away a free two night camping holiday too one of their followers, just a thought if u win you would get two of your nights paid for.
  20. Try the Grouse and Claret, lovely campsite and plenty to do near by. I went last August and will be going back again this year at some point, didn’t have time to visit everywhere in our four day stop. Plus the pub did wonderful food, only had one meal there as I like to do my own cooking when camping, but was handy that I could walk in there order a pint and take it back to my tent.
  21. No I haven’t tried sleeping in a Yurt but would like to try it, but I do like sleeping in my own tents. Will probably try it in 2013 some time, let me know if you go and if you enjoy it. There are quite a few on my website http://www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk and we allow you to search by ‘Static Tents’ as there known on our website, but I definitely like the idea if its raining, no more putting the tent up when its chucking it down
  22. HI Claire I hope you had a nice night on New Years eve, did you enjoy the campsite and would you mind leaving a review at http://www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk/holidays/589/Thornton%E2%80%99s-Holt-Camping-Park so others know how good the site is. Thanks Andy
  23. check out Grouse and Claret http://www.campingsitesinbritain.co.uk/holidays/3198/Grouse-Claret-Camp-Site-and-Caravan-Park Its been rated 5* by CampingSitesinBritain.co.uk members and I the Managing Director have stayed at this site and will be going again. Shopping site next to campsite (the other half loved that and I loved the pub on site) we were both happy. The pub also does wonderful meals.
