If i ever got a puppy again id still vaccinate, but not give microchip at same time, if i ever gave a microchip at all. His immune system shut down trying to fight both. Where he had the microchip was a lump the size of a tennis ball.

The vet did say this is only the 2nd time in 17 years it has happened

Ive tried to attach a photo of Jasper an hour before his jabs.

I don't know what to say. He looks such a dear little mite, and it is so terrible what has happened.

We are all hear for an ear or shoulder, take some time before you make any decisions about the future and remember that you were doing the very best.

How awful for you. I found this on the net.

"I'LL WAIT FOR YOU"

I got to the gate of heaven today,

after we said goodbye

I began to miss you terribly,

because I heard you cry.

Suddenly there was an angel,

and she asked me to enter heaven's gate

I asked her if I could stay outside

for someone who would be late

I wouldn't make much noise you see,

I wouldn't bark or howl

I'll only wait here patiently

and play with my tennis ball

The angel said I could stay right here

and wait for you to come

Because heaven just wouldn't be heaven

if I went in alone

So I'll wait right here,

you take your time, but keep

me in your heart

Because heaven just wouldn't be heaven

without you to warm my heart.

:( Big hugs. That's really unfortunate and as you say rare for it to happen to you but you were doing the right thing. He was a very beautiful dog.

My 2 big boy cats are babysitting me at the moment. I dont care what people say-cats CAN sense when someone is upset and are very loyal.

Im starting to lose feeling in my legs tho-they weigh about 12kg combined.

so sorry, what a terrible loss for you and your daughter.

Jasper looks such a wonderful puppy, what an awful dreadful shame.

Time does make things easier to bear. I said never again after losing a very special dog too young, it took a long while, but now we have the company of 2 dogs in our family.

It does sound a good idea to spread out the vaccinations and other procedures. I know a friend gets the vax staggered for her rescue cat, no triple vax, as he has never fully recovered from maltreatment as a kitten, and she fears his immune system is weakened.

Our puppy was already chipped by the breeder when we got him, so it was only necessary to update the registration, it is something that more breeders are doing.

hugs and thoughts
