Good quality restaurants?

Help!

 

can anyone suggest a restaurant that does menus ranging from good-excellent? Price isn't too much of an issue (£15-£45 a head seems reasonable to me)

 

I'm looking for anything other than Indian, oriental and Italian. I don't know if there's anywhere that does contemporary british cuisine or just contemporary European. Was recommended 543 on Eclesall rd but found out it's closed down :-(

My favourite is Spinrocs in Crookes - lively atmosphere, great service & gorgeous tapas. Very reasonably priced too. Book in advance though, they're always packed on the weekend.

 

Have you been to Thyme in Broomhill? It's a tried and tested favourite as many forummers will tell you. I also hear that Boho in Campo Lane is pretty good... although haven't been myself.

 

I'll be interested to see what other posters recommend.

Just tried Artisan and they have a limited set menu - 3 starters, 3 main, etc. - for parties of 8+.

Need to be there at 6pm for Catch if it's a the same number party.... :-S

If you looking at up to 45 quid a head try fischers / rowleys / Walnut Club

 

in baslow for fischers and rowleys, and hathersage for the walnut club

I'm a big fan of Cubana, a friend always recommends that Mustard Pot pub, but it's a bit out of the way.
