  1. oh my god, this sounds horrific! I agree about the heartbreak, too, I'm still feeling it
  2. Definitely gallstones. I had them for 3 years before they were diagnosed and had my gallbladder removed. I've had open heart surgery but gallstones caused me the worst pain I've ever experienced, I'd hallucinate and tell my parents I wanted to die. Not good! A close second is having arterial blood taken; I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone.
  3. Ah I love Pitman! Where did he disappear to? Anyway mine are: Braintax - Biro Funk Jehst - Return of the Drifter Aim - Cold Water Music
  4. This is me in a nutshell. End of last year, my relationship broke down, I hated my job at the time, things were just going badly and it gave me an excuse to quit and go abroad for 6 months. Bit drastic but honestly in those 6 months I was so, so happy and if it wasn't for lack of money I wouldn't have come back. While I was away I realised Sheffield wasn't for me. I love it but there's so much more out there (for me, personally.) A lot of my friends there let me down, I tend to associate it with bad feeling and I always feel really down when I go back to visit. Now I'm back at my parents', job hunting all over the place, and I'm going to move to wherever my job may take me! I want to live somewhere I love and meet new people, that's all. I won't stop looking til I'm happy Anyway my point is you should give it a shot, you won't know unless you try.
  5. Beautiful food as always. Service pretty appalling, we went in the first week after it re-opened, stoo at the bar with just one other customer - took ages to order drinks, then I went back again to ask for a menu and waited even longer to be seen to. There is one smarmy git who thinks he owns the place, we ordered our tapas and he brought out our plates, just left them on the side of our table and walked off, didn't even make eye contact or smile or anything! All of our dishes had come been served but we were still waiting for the bread that we ordered, so I went up to him and politely told him that, he replied with some patronising words along the lines of "some dishes take longer than others, that's why we bring them out at different times." followed by a lovely false smile. I don't think ready-baked bread takes the longest to bring out, it's usually first on the table! Arghh I hate that guy, I wanted to punch him in the face! Where are the original staff? They were brilliant, particularly the really tall slim guy Also don't like the cutlery pots with table numbers on, and the cutlery pre-wrapped in a napkin - I think it cheapens the place, reminds me a little of Varsity etc. I'd still go back for the food...
  6. I second McDonalds, just been to the one on Archer Road and got loads there, lovely guy who worked there even carried them out to my car for me.
  7. I love wasabi peas! Never bought them myself, but you can try the oriental supermarket in town: Tai Sun Oriental Supermarket Sheffield City Centre 17 - 19 Matilda Street Sheffield S1 4QB 0114 278 6068 http://www.taisun.co.uk
  8. thank you both, I'll check them out!
  9. Hi, I've done a search for past posts but they're all a bit outdated... does anyone know of a mini/crazy golf range in or around Sheffield? I saw a BBC article about one in Graves Park, would anyone recommend it? Been looking for one for ages and now the weather is getting nicer I'd like to try one out! Thanks
  10. Beverley Cobella’s curl calmer, exclusive to Boots. The most perfect product for my curls, until they stopped making it I haven’t found a product anywhere near as good.
  11. Put some clove oil on it in the meantime, it really works!
  12. Foreign hip hop is so underrated! I think people are either scared to listen or forget hip hop exists outside the US and UK haha. Just seen your previous post btw, that Walk Like A Duck night looks good
  13. Atmosphere - God Loves Ugly/Seven's Travels Aesop Rock - Labour Days - honestly, if you get one album make it this one, it is absolutely amazing. Not one skippable track (in my humble opinion!) Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth El-P - fantastic damage Mr Lif - Mo Mega Gang Starr Murs - 3:16 the 9th edition Edan - anything! Pitman - It Takes a Nation of Tossers - hilarious lyrics, does some parodies of tunes by Roots Manuva and Cypress Hill, it's all very funny dry humour - really good if you fancy something a bit different Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein DJ Babu (from Dilated Peoples) - Duck Season 1 & 2, good compilation TTC - Ceci N'Est Pas Un Disque, obviously these guys are French but don't let that put you off if you're worried you won't understand the lyrics or anything, the tunes are awesome - same with Sian Supa Crew Other stuff people have previously mentioned, Braintax, Jehst's 'Return of the Drifter', RJD2 - try and get 'RJD2 Is God', it's amazing. If you wanna hear more varied music, best thing to do is get some sort of compilation, you're bound to like at least some of what you hear and take it from there I could recommend so much more but I think I've already gone too far! Enjoy!
  14. This happened... http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/Anger-over-city-graffiti-contest.3613782.jp "A COMPETITION in which graffiti artists from across the country descended on Sheffield has been slammed by council leader Jan Wilson - who has ordered that no similar events take place in the city again."
