Is The Pope Correct?

Yes, IMO the Pope is correct.

It will save many lives and make for a swifter recovery.

We have come a long long way from men in red coats standing on a battlefield.

Technology has  moved on and continues to invent new and more efficient ways of killing, maiming and starving huge numbers of innocent people, and destroying entire countries to the point of no return.

The only thing that never changes is man's stupidity in thinking this is an acceptable way of dealing with disputes and conflict. It's barbaric and has no place in a modern civilised world.

Either put the Prime ministers, Presidents and leaders in the front line to do the actual fighting, or stop it. Stop it now!

Naturally, Putin well take your comments on board.

There is no point in beating around the bush. Ukraine is never going to defeat Russia. It is a waste of money for the UK, USA and EU to keep providing funds to delay the inevitable. Surely it is now time for Ukraine to negotiate peace with Russia?

Should other countries just roll over to any country with nuclear weapons, Russia/Israel?

I think all the Ukrainians should sell their brand new 4x4 shiny Jeeps and SUVs that are everywhere in Romania and Bulgaria to help pay for the war, and maybe send all the money they get from begging and pleading poverty also.

In 2014, the USA and Britain financed a coup d'état in Ukraine, deposing the legit government with a puppet government led by Zelenskyy, despite being Russian speaking himself Zelenskyy hates the Russian-speaking people of the Donbas region and sent in his Azov battalions to commit genocide.

It was because of this Putin got involved, in effect stopping Zelenskyy from murdering his own people,

It's not as simple as that  and  no one seems to have thought past the first step.

If everyone bows down to Putin and lets him tale  Ukraine,  whatever makes you think he'll stop there ?

The Poles,  Romanians etc already know they will be next once Ukraine is sorted.

We either support Ukraine against a very much weakened Russia now or we will later be having to stand up to a very strong Russia at a later date.

He's like Hitler and won't stop until he has the lot.

Makes no difference now how it came about.  All we have to know is we should stop meddling.          But for now,  do we stand up to Russia now or later.

Let's not forget Putin's arrest warrent by ICC:

The International Criminal Court (ICC) is an international court located in The Hague, Netherlands, created in 1998 by the Rome Statute. Both Russia and Ukraine signed the Statute, but neither ratified it and Russia withdrew its signature from the Statute in 2016 following a report that classified Russia's annexation of Crimea as an occupation; however, Ukraine accepted the Court's jurisdiction on its territory in 2014, allowing the Court to investigate alleged crimes committed during the course of the Russo-Ukrainian war.[4] The court received total cooperation from the Ukrainian authorities.[5]

On 4 February 2015, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the ICC to investigate crimes against humanity committed by Russian forces on Ukrainian territory since 20 February 2014, and to hold accountable the responsible senior officials of the Russian Federation.[6]

On 24 February 2022, Russia invaded and occupied parts of Ukraine in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War, which began in 2014. During the invasion, Russia has abducted thousands of Ukrainian children in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine and has deported them to Russia.[7]

Ukrainian officials are investigating more than 16,000 suspected cases of forced deportation of minors.[8] Russia has acknowledged transferring 2,000 children without guardians.[5]

In May 2022, Putin ordered to simplify the issuance of Russian citizenship to Ukrainian orphan children.[9] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that by doing this, "Putin effectively legalized the abduction of children".[9]

In August 2022, Gyunduz Mamedov, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine in 2019–2022, said that the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia (more than 300,000 according to the Russian Federation) is the most promising way to prove genocide.[10]

In September 2022, Lvova-Belova, holding the office of the Commissioner for Children's Rights of Russia, described how the abducted Ukrainian children were initially hostile towards Russia and Putin, but after the process of "integration" the children's negative attitude gradually "turned into love".[11]

Rest of it is on Wikipedia section.

The fact Russia has nuclear weapons is why an alliance has not been formed to fight Russia.  Just giving Ukraine money and military equipment will not resolve the conflict.

Making Russia waste it's money and it's valuable resources,  including men,   on a long drawn out futile war is better than giving them the whole of Europe.

In the meantime Europe should become more independent of Russian oil and gas  -  something they should have done a long time ago.

There's been no point to this war since the very start of it. Ukraine was NEVER going to win.

Not even with the help of 'Patron' and 'The Ghost of Kiev' 🤣

If Zelensky has any sense hell stop murdering the ethnic Russians, let them stay part of Russia like they wat,  release all the priests, nuns, political opponents he's illegally imprisoned and allow elections again.

I doubt he'll do any of that though.

Tbh don't think any war is a good war they used to say the pen is mightier than the sword!

I fully agree,  but when the war is already under way,  it does change things considerably.
