'I know about two weeks ago he was arrested by police at Parsons Green, for what I don't know and returned back to Penny and Ron. After that Penny said she was going to have to stop caring for him, she couldn't handle him.'

 

What seems strange about the whole thing is that social services would allow an 89 year old to foster a difficult teenager, who clearly had problems. Especially after a case last year of a couple fostering refugees when one turned out to be 22 and a jihadi with child abuse images on his mobile.

They might be good at fostering? Given the absolute lack of foster families around the country (9 to 7k I've quickly googled) and I'm sure it wouldn't be the first time they've collected a child they were fostering from a police station. Nature of the beast I guess.

Police said the man was detained in the departure area of Dover’s port, prompting concern terrorists behind the attack in Parsons Green could be attempting to flee the UK.Major-General Chip Chapman, the former head of counter-terrorism in the Ministry of Defence, said the density of rush-hour crowds meant lives would have been lost in a full blast.

 

“You could have had everyone in that carriage killed,” he told The Independent.

 

“There’s a fair chance that no one would have got out of there alive or without life-changing injuries.”

Well, I think most people would guess if you put a bomb on a train and it went off properly an awful lot of people would die but it's good to have it confirmed by a military man.
