Andy C
Well the other option would be walk from station to Three Tuns, Dronfield Arms and Pioneer Club then join a bus. Would recommend getting to the Miners at Hundall on one of the first coaches up there before it gets really busy.
DnAuK
Well the other option would be walk from station to Three Tuns, Dronfield Arms and Pioneer Club then join a bus. Would recommend getting to the Miners at Hundall on one of the first coaches up there before it gets really busy. I know. That was plan B as I knew the Dronny Arms was open early. Last year went from there to the 3 Tuns and then caught a bus up to The Miners, which was great. However, this year it appears buses to the Miners will not call anywhere in the centre other than the station (for reasons I can see) so that isn't an option. I'm still working on finalising a route. Have friends travelling up to do the festival and SpiderPete will probably tag along. And I've seen his wrath before when someone leads him off-route, so I have to be careful! SteelCityAle
I'll be starting at Dronfield Arms. And looking at the beer list, not making it much further...
DnAuK
I'll be starting at Dronfield Arms. And looking at the beer list, not making it much further... I know. That's the danger. Hence wanting to start elsewhere. I was thinking of the three Andy listed, then a bus round to the 3 Tuns, and a walk back via the Dronny Arms to the station to pick up a bus to the Miners. But I'm prepared to sacrifice that journey if a) buses are mentally busy, and b) I get trapped in the Dronny. May just go up and finish at the Coach instead. SpiderPete
Dronfield Arms does sound the best pub to be in and will be the busiest, I was thinking starting at Coach & Horses as I can get a bus from home to nearly there and walk down into Dronfield visiting pubs along the way. That sounds like a plan. Must admit we were thinking of finishing at the Coach and Horses as, if the bus back to the station isn't running, the wander down the hill isn't too bad. No doubt we will cross paths en-route somewhere.

Andy C
The 2018 festival is confirmed as taking place Saturday 2nd June. A lot of the details of venues are still not quite confirmed and the bus plan isn't fully worked out yet, keep an eye on the Facebook event for announcements, however the main news is the route out to Hundall is being extended via Marsh Lane/Middle Handley and Halfway tram terminus to Fuggle Bunny Brewhouse.
